I think our best option is the Atlantic trying to break through and stalling over us...

could be epic

Knowing our luck it will stall over Yorkshire and dump another foot on top of the two or three that they will already have while ours turns into rain and washes away the couple of inches we had from the easterly

I want to be optimistic but I've seen 0 from other easterlies so I'm expecting 0cm from this one. Cold temperatures will be interesting though.

Easterlies for my location generally produce the dry-powder snow which easily drifts in the wind, which is why in the past few years of having 'Beasterlies' most open areas didn't have that much snow cover however the side of buildings, walls, etc had many ft of snow accumulated and brought the travel issues. It'll be fun seeing what kind of impact this Easterly has but i'm not expecting to be seeing much in the way of lying snow like we've had over the past few weeks.

This was in 2013 on Whaley Moor, a good example of the Easterly snowdrift effect we get here with the open fields mostly being untouched and yet many walls and sides of roads had a good 6ft of accumulated snow.

No it can’t, the purples especially the light ones don’t go far enough across our region

Looking at how stern the easterly flow is progged on the models, the depth of cold uppers and the embedded troughs I am going for

30 cm in Oldham East (with drifting)
