Well I'm actually under that bit in the south east, which has apparently "pepped up" and I can assure you it's just light dandruff blowing in the wind. Blink and you'll miss it

Neil if you're going to make a comment, make sure you recognise that I'm talking about a different set of PPN that's not over your head currently.

Interesting feature just south of Brussels/Lille edging towards the far south east.

Seems this could potentially spawn some extra precip around 3-6am.

Could...

Have light snow being blown in on the wind here now. Big well done to all who got a good covering today it's been pretty epic in here today, only a slushy dusting here for me. The dog has just had his late evening walkies and it's minus 2 here but the wind chill is significantly lower and its raw to say the least! I don't even think he was too impressed to be out there!

Might need to head outside and look at the clouds.

Hopefully no one is out to give me some looks...

Is it snowing your way now? We are litrally on the edge of that heavier radar return looks well over you in southend?

All I can say is tonight, rather than last night, would be the night to stay up late. Could be some interesting developments based on the latest few radar runs .....

Have some light but steady snow here now.  Radar is looking really quite encouraging and the things have more of an easterly component than earlier.

Yeah snowing here winds turning more Easterly too.

Should be a fun couple of hours.

Snowing in Southend and Basildon presumably means that it is here too! Sadly I can’t see a lamppost from my bedroom window, and going to the front window would involve waking my parents who need to be up early and so isn’t an option...

Could this hit London

Never say never. London always more prone to snow from more of an easterly swing in wind direction  (ie Thames streamer) and with convection kicking off you can’t rule it out.

I stayed up all last night ,finally went to bed at 5.30 am ?‍♀️. I got into bed & I was actually laughing at myself for being such a donut ,checking for snow . I've felt like All day today , what's even more hilarious is that I'll probably do the same again tonight . My mates think I've proper lost the plot .... I think they're right !!

Snap lol! I often question myself regarding snow watching! I stayed up till 3 last night and was thinking of calling it a night at 23:30 however there are signs of hope starting to pop up.

Looks like something may be developing off the Suffolk coast - could be of interest later to areas slightly further inland in Essex/Kent.

This is what I've been waiting all day for, everything almost instantly white. A few hours in the dry slot for everything to freeze and bam.

I still think this is why the MetO are warning of 10-15cm, hours and hours of this fine powdery snow will build up rapidly.

This is more like it! Heavy might be pushing it but certainly 'reasonably moderate'  snow shower for the last half an hour here, roads and pavements white within minutes!
