I suppose not really weather related but I just wanted to say thank you all so much.  I've really really enjoyed following the posts today.  I am awaiting Open Heart Surgery sometime this year and you

Oh my f**king god. How many times does it need saying? 1. The amber doesn't expire until tomorrow midday 2. Widespread heavy showers & streamers are going to follow later, tonight,

Evening. Here's my estimated #snow depths for England and Wales that I expect until noon on Monday, using a blend of high resolution models.

I think this is going to be a slow burner. Before everyone starts moaning I'd wait until this evening to see what's happened . Must confess I was expecting to wake to a couple of CM's snow and temperature below zero so either its delayed/ watered down/ or just not going to happen. I'm hoping the former

Very disappointing so far in mid-Sussex. Wet ground, light snow/sleet and not settling. After all that anticipation.

Essex really isn't. Not this part anyway.

Well it's snowing in Braintree and has been lightly since about 0630.  Now just starting to settle on cars etc.  Hopefully we'll get a much heavy batch of showers soon.

I just want to know if those calling out the likes of @Ian Docwra as a troll or a pessimist because he dared to say this moving more SE than projected, are going to apologise this morning. Some of it was ridiculous.

Nope, completely wrong. If this ppn was moving east like he suggested last night, it'd be in Latvia by now!

Anyway, snowing and settling here in N London (N17).

😲 Has it reached you yet mate?

As @Snowman. says it’s still light stuff here in Southend. Family member out Wakering way says flakes are increasing in size though. So it’s a frustrating wait I think.  But we will get there eventually...I hope 😂

On a more positive note,at least we are not 'wasting' snow here while the dew points are not conducive to it settling.

Cloud and sun here right now.

    Not settling here yet

I’m quite a bit further out in the suburbs, probably why. Chingford is on the border of Gtr London and Essex.

Blowing a hoolly at the moment and the small snowflakes are going horizontally across the garden. Starting to settle on the grass but not on roads, cars etc.

Tiny little snowflakes started here in Surbiton around 8.45am, blowing around in the wind as reported elsewhere. I woke up at 6am to nothing, checked radar, nothing, woke again at 8am, still nothing so it's nice to have the little flakes now at least - they're the type that bounce off the surfaces. Fingers crossed for later for everyone.

Yeah it’s a painful budge west but it’s getting there.

Hust a shame about the East shift, otherwise we would be rolling in it already however I think we’re going to end up in a clipper or streamer so I’m not overly concerned

Just getting flashbacks to Jan 2013 when the front stalled just west of here that was sad times

Who me, or the models? Model wise, if only it were that simple. It's all still happening, it's just delayed. It's only the weather.

Snow showers up north look way more widespread than forecast by any hi-res model. This should give us some hope later on

Temperature keeps hovering above freezing so not much in the way of cm.

I’m not having a pop at you. The models. It shows how complex the weather is and how tripe the modelling can be 👍
