MOGREPS has a broad area of precip gradually moving west through tonight, stalling over the Medway area around 6/7am tomorrow morning.

Broadly light until tomorrow evening when it ramps things up again.

LOL. Is Bread and Cheese Hill an actual place?

Please say yes.

Yep, named after a pub at the top!

Was expecting an inch or 2 at best but have got lucky. Not even in the Amber area. We have 5 inches of level snow and drifts of a couple of feet. Even lucked out with the streamer this evening. Still snowing, that more or less 14 hours continual. My elevation helped start the conversion and settling earlier here. Will posts some pics in the morning. Going sledging too!

You guys will go mad if you try and follow every streamer tonight as it comes and goes. It's just pot luck.....could be some nice surprises for some when the open the curtains tomorrow morning.

I nicked 7cms ground accumulation 2018 in these streamer types..in 20 hrs.. even with light moderate falls... and It looks as though scenario 2 maybe beginning to play out!!!

It’s doppler radar, hence why flying ants etc get picked up in summer as ppn. Same for blowing snow.

Strange how earlier all radar says I’m about 10 miles from precip but it was continuous light snow then I’m not surprised the snow flakes are carried a long way in fairly consistent 40mph winds.  Are we sure most radar we used isn’t satellite based

I've refrained myself but God this is frustrating. Missed everything all day bar the odd graupal shower, finally landed a streamer but it vanished into thin air within an hour or two, leaving less than a cm. Same close but no cigar show as late Jan, early Jan and early Dec. Grrrgh! Anyway rant over and hope again for tonight/tomorrow

I must be the most noobest person here so i have a question for some of the more experienced. I see the streamer formed to my my north in great yarmouth  and another to my south what stops them converging into a more organised mass off precip ?

One short sharp shower and we have a sugar coating on the roads and pavements. Took me by surprise as the radar says it just missed me to the west

Ooh lucky. We're just up the road and have that inch or two and it didn't settle on roads all day. Plenty of streamer activity, but perhaps not the very heaviest. I wonder if you benefited from that early strong band to get everything settled. If we'd had strong snow for another 30-60 mins, I think we'd have had a solid layer everywhere that would have only built up later. Still optimistic for where we'll end up at the end of the night.

We seem to be unlucky on this run.

I suppose not really weather related but I just wanted to say thank you all so much.  I've really really enjoyed following the posts today.  I am awaiting Open Heart Surgery sometime this year and you have really taken my mind off things.  Thanks again everyone.  I really mean that.

dont over do it on the frustration or excitment then ,keep it calm and collective :-}

So, really icy outside, with 1cm on the wheelie bin. All hard surfaces wet so could be treacherous tomorrow.

Looking for some shows to add to the frozen dusting on grass and vehicles.
