Been on the periphery all day with light snow on and off. Can imagine it’s just as frustrating up in Norwich with snow both sides. Streamers setting up further north and band edging north a bit so will hopefully squeeze  out the dry zone...

Yes lets hope we in herts dont get caught in the no mans land between the wash and Thames streamers. As you say very frustrating day here. While i didnt expect much i did expect at least perhaps 1/2 cm?

Mate when using NW radar click precipitation type... it’ll cast a different scope.. and make it a little easier to decipher ✊

Sure I do that. Reality is heavier PPN is still a few miles east of me.

I'm in the "heavy" band that's over south London now,  it's not heavy though. Similar light snow to what we've had most of the afternoon and not settling.

Snow is piling in here. 4 cm on wodden plank and 6 cm elsewhere in the garden. My poor grass temperature sensor is nearly inundated with a sudden change in surface settling in the last hour or so.

Ok, starting to stick to the pavements now so feeling like proper snow. I'm off out for a walk now

Well got about an inch or so, and I'm in the amber zone!  Only about 5" short of predictions.  But I guess there is "more to come".  Ha ha!!

20 miles north in the amber still and we’ve yet to see any accumulation or anything at all til one minute ago, as i started replying to you we had a little burst of flakes!

Similar here, the intensity is higher but the flakes are still relatively small. It's now covering grass, cars which haven't moved etc. but pavements and roads are still generally clear.

Which streamers effect which area/s? I found an old post by Tom but it looks like the images may have expired.

I think it depends on wind direction A thames streaner with a NW will stream over S London and parts of N Kent and over my way....

Pathetic event here in Brighton, sun even came out earlier

Went out for my daily jog and didn’t even feel that cold, certainly didn’t feel the apparent -5 it’s meant to ‘feel like’ outside.

snizzled for a few hours, zero settled.

It can change in a flash, we had a the sun pop out briefly, now its a winter wonderland with snow settling,  your only 23 miles away.

Very difficult to judge accumulation in Clacton now as the snow is very powdery and drifting like mad. There's 12cm on my car but some pavements are only dusted.

Just been for a long walk and in the local farmer's fields there were drifts of 50cm+.

It's been very light here all day. Snow that has settled is melting.

Seems Norwich snow shield now is activated - snow to the north, snow to the south, snow to the east, snow to the west, and here I am now stuck in the dry slot

As long as I know it’s heavy there I’ve still got a fair bit to come. Hoping for more readily laying in next hour
