Seems to be LOTS of snow left in the North Sea! Hoping for the roads to go proper white later when it’s dark! Possible?

Very possible

So still got very light snow but there a change. It’s starting to settle on the garden furniture and garage roof.

I’ve even got a snow drift

It’s picking up little more here now and starting to settle more.

Its still at M11 for me. Must be 3 or 4 miles away.

Starting to settle on roads now, temps is still coming down puddles are freezing as well as the slush with fresh snow on top.

Looking hazardous.

If I’m not misremembering what I’ve read, that’s the idea. I’m really watching for a Thames streamer type system for our areas. There is so much building in the North Sea, and as temps fall I can see it settling much easier than it did this morning

Fingers crossed

Ok the snizzle is getting a bit more potent here now... have a feeling I’m in direct line with that streamer coming into Norfolk... flakes getting bigger too.

Just about enough to turn the moss a tint of white!

The ppn appears to be moving more inland now for members further west.

Pathetic event here in Brighton, sun even came out earlier

Went out for my daily jog and didn’t even feel that cold, certainly didn’t feel the apparent -5 it’s meant to ‘feel like’ outside.

snizzled for a few hours, zero settled.

Was worried about the break up, but there is definitely more building into the EA coast.

Hours of waiting for heavy band. Then it decays and still a few miles east.

Been on the periphery all day with light snow on and off. Can imagine it’s just as frustrating up in Norwich with snow both sides. Streamers setting up further north and band edging north a bit so will hopefully squeeze  out the dry zone...

Mate when using NW radar click precipitation type(weather type)... it’ll cast a different scope.. and make it a little easier to decipher ✊

Does anyone know if winds will start to veer ENE at any point this evening or overnight?

Tbh, if you cycle back half hour or an hour even, it looks to me that the band of snow is already moving in less of a SSW direction and more SW perhaps even WSW soon. Some definite adjustments on NW extra's radar lite, as if you add in the wind direction layer, this confirms what I've said above. There has already been a definite shift, I'm certain of it. So fingers crossed!!!

An interesting phenomenon here - the temperature has been at between +0.2C and +0.4C all afternoon.  We have a latticed metal patio table and the snow has only sporadically settled on it, otherwise melting.  Now, at +0.4C, there are long icicles hanging down.  I presume the strong wind has caused evaporation from the metal and cooled it enough for freezing to occur.  This may also explain some others finding metal objects with ice while snow melts - it really is that marginal.
