Went off a walk up to the highstreet.

VERY wet everywhere. My hopes are pinned on tonight now, temps drop, ground freezes up and we see some kind of streamer set up, even a little one, and could wake up to 10cm.

Keeping an eye on a possible line of showers around the Kings Lynn area that are heading inland. Hoping they will last. What are your thoughts?

Yeah eyes on that here too.

I’ve got my eye even more on the stuff just starting to form further up the coast into Norfolk (Fakenham sort of area) - if we can get that to form into a streamer that will hopefully be pretty much bullseye for us with a NE-ENE flow.

Should be an interesting evening, not expecting more than a covering here and hoping to be pleasantly surprised

Settling more readily now on most surfaces as the temperature has finally dropped below freezing, just a shame it’s dropped off so late in the day!

Cars which had lost their cover earlier are now covered again. Hopefully a few more hours of this ??

Just been out round the garden with our dog (a Husky actually!).  We have lying snow where the wind has been shielded by a stand of big conifers.  The rest is soggy and green.  Box Hill opposite us has a clear snow line (see picture).  Snow almost stopped and the temp. has risen to +0.4C with glimpses of blue sky between thick clouds.  Blustery, to say the least.

No matter how much has settled, continuous snow since 0730 is great to watch.

We wouldn't be rushing out in to it anyway so the view from the window, is pleasing.

Will have a look, temp dropping here and dew point now -3c so that will be enough. Certainly developing situation. Still we were quite lucky the other week. Fingers crossed.

Currently -1.5C with DP -2.5C here, close to Ashford. We have 9 cm on the ground and it's been snowing constantly all day

Radar showing the dynamics are changing a bit with heavier ppn developing over the North Sea, and an increase in ppn around The Wash.

Slightly colder air at 850hPa also filtering in, particularly into East Anglia.

Not sure if it’s just my eyes playing tricks on me but there does seem to be a bit more of an E-W movement to the band in the last 20mins or so.

So its been sitting literally 2 miles to the east of me all day, and in the last half hour it pushed in, and now the front is breaking up! Wtf!  So that's it then at a guess.

Amazing how much difference a couple of miles makes. Thick snow on the a140 just south of diss.

It’s funny because usually Hastings does better overall! Given it’s hillier

Considering how wet it was this morning and how reluctant it has been to lay on concrete I’ll take this! Still absolutely hammering it down too! About 5-6cm on the decking

The snow is beginning to fall fast here, the roads and paths that were clear of snow are now covered. Literally gone from nothing to covered in about 10 mins!!

Settling on roads now, everything slowly turning white. It seems like more small icy pellets than snowflakes, but anything to cover surfaces white Quite heavy now we must be up to 4cm on the grass now

I was living in Hastingleigh until 2019. Bet is a foot deep there by now!

I clearly remember driving from Hastingleigh with thick snow falling to Wye where it was falling as heavy rain and then back to the snow in Hastingleigh - amazing the difference a little elevation brings!

Anyway promise going forward “perhaps “?!?.. some decent echos out in the North Sea now.. and that rotate locale northerly in upper most france.. and the vents guidance =iso chart.. would suggest we are now entering a more easterly component... as the hrs tick away =recharge in ppn >and more penetration inland of that sequence... needs eyeing ✊
