Slightly annoyed waking up briefly at 0600 to see....nothing. The gradual westward movement seems to be continuing and even in Romford it's starting to stick to cars, roofs and greenery...just hope it's got the legs to continue.

Darker clouds arriving now and looking at the radar the first few flurries. Convection is shallow at the moment so a “blowing in the wind” job at the moment. However as thicknesses fall and 850s drop a little these should become heavier.

Heya hope ur well, what kinda timescale are we thinking for thickness and 850s to fall? Showers coming off the wash starting to lift my spirits here, fingers crossed a streamer will form and turn heavy xx

Lots of flakes now, starting to try and settle on other surfaces - let’s see if this can keep up as the heavier lot moves westwards over me

Getting heavier in Locksbottom.Temperature is -0.3 and finally settling on cars.Main band does seem to have moved westwards in last 2 hours but don’t think it has much more westward movement on it.Am feeling a lot more optimistic than when I got up at 7 and everything was still green.Think this could turn out better in this part of NW Kent compared to BFTE IN 2018 if the streamers align right from tonight going into Wednesday.we only had 5cms here in locksbottom then and that was last time we had any accumulating snow.Going to be a slow burner this one

Yeah, I live to the south east of Dorking so I am always walking in and around Brockham!

We're between Brockham and Betchworth near the Big Field.

Now at +0.6C and light snow, settling on vegetation, but everything else is very wet and not accepting snow - yet.  The ground is, as predicted, too warm still and the grass is wet, not white.  I do wonder if all the wonderful models that people pinned so much hope on actually took proper account of the higher-than-normal SST to our east, as so many were saying that the air couldn't possibly be warm enough to be above freezing by now.  It may drop below as the day progresses to allow some accumulation, but it's certainly nowhere near as clear-cut as the 'hypers' were insisting.  Today should be quite interesting, at least.

I’ve just been gritting and clearing snow around our farm.

Thick, even blanket of snow laying here in Tillingham, with very heavy, continuous snow and windy conditions.

intensity hasn’t let up for a good few hours.

This will be an epic event if we get a few more hours of this!

?? Right under the heavier streamer there Paul, all down the coasts looks like they are the sweet spot for the next few hours could be some big totals.

We’ve got moderate snow here and accumulating nicely I suspect the rest of the region will get in the action later today and tomorrow

Just under a cm on the garden table and much smaller flakes now which I think is a good thing in terms of temps and settling potential. Also starting to settle on the garden path since the photo!

Light snow, small flakes in Harrow. Not settling. Looks like this will be off and on during the day. Will be happy if i manage a dusting. As Kold Weather says, looking good if you are east of central London!

Medway crew - streamer incoming now so that should pep things up even more & yes settling is taking a while atm but the temp is still dropping so that should help too.

This is reminding me a lot of March 2013. Some areas did really well, but here the snow refused to settle on pavements and roads. Ended up with 5cms on other surfaces.

Lighter snow now - about 1 inch where it has settled. Roads and pavements still wet.

If the streamer makes it down from Medway it should pep up again in about 20 mins or so.

And it's still coming down hard in Sheerness I could only guess how much there would have been if it didn't start of so wet at least it's starting to lay now

Currently light snow here in hassocks but just starting to get a bit heavier now,no coverage yet but bitterly cold! Good luck to all that are under the main band and to others in my locale around Brighton and mid Sussex!
