Well, it seems the dry sector to my north is shrinking and showers might get me if the front moves south, hopefully.

I've just noticed that the reason for the yellow warning update from 45 mins ago aside from extending the warning period to end of Wednesday was to drop ice as being the primary hazard in favour of snow

It keeps melting when the snow gets lighter so when it picks up again it has to recover. Not really getting anywhere.

Are things due to get more intense later can't see much accumulation otherwise.

Not sure if it's drizzle or snizzle here, I think the South Downs is preventing all the PPN from getting here as ever since 6am it literally fizzles out about 10  miles to the West and I see now it's somehow passing to our North as well. only thing that seems to make sense.

Is that signs of a wash Streamer starting on the radar?

Hard to tell, the precipitation coming off the North Sea is pretty extensive, you only need to look up the east coast, showers are widespread. Hopefully something more significant should develop later.

Looks amazing!

Family in Colchester so hoping all of coastal NE Essex does well. Haven't seen snow potential like this since 2012 I think when the snow stalled off the Essex coast and there was 12 hours straight of snow.

Had the same issue in South Wales last week.

Snowed all day but nothing settled.

Fingers crossed for you..

Five hours progress (or lack of between 6.15 and 11. It does appear now that there is some more westward movement.

Morning all

Well, the cold arrived in lowland East London quickly overnight - this morning it's overcast - the rain has turned to sleet but isn't settling anywhere just yet. Having been out for the morning paper, a biting E'ly wind has now developed.

Temperature still just above freezing - currently 1c here.

I would imagine those with altitude or those outside London are doing very well and I suspect our time will come later - for now, it's just the wrong side of marginal.

I've just looked out the window in our garden and it is starting to settle now.  Trees look like a winter wonderland.  Out the front, it's only settling on cars.

Although it has turned back to snizzle now and the sky is getting brighter
