10z Obs

Temp is -0.6c

Dewp is -1.2c

Feel Like Temp is -5.4c

Wind from the NE at 12mph gusting to 25mph

Snow Depth is Zero

With regards those readings Paul, in our neck of the woods, what do you think they need to be before any of this settles ? I did always wonder if the snow would have trouble settling on saturated ground but I am sure it is much more scientific than that. Personally, I think it can carry on like this all day and none will settle but if the flakes become bigger and heavier then I'm sure that would give us a better chance.

Snowing since 07:30. Small flakes but moderate now and settling on trees and garden furniture.

Been stuck at 0.3 for an hour now, shame we can't edge a touch lower as we have plenty of the white stuff falling.

Still hammering down here in canterbury. However pavements and roads are not going white! Only in small spots and patches. Surely it must nearly be cold enough for them to go?

The automatic forecast is trash. Just look at the radar - we are -0.1c here now.

And that's when you can call it a bust: hour after hour of imaginary snowfall!:santa-emoji:

Still going strong in Bexhill, had a heavy burst of fat flakes that really tried to properly settle. My sister sent me a photo of the snow settling on the roads in Battle.

Same problem here, just won't settle on pavements and roads.

hhhmmmmm!...only started to turn to snow here at 8am which was far later than forecast and have to say a bit disappointing. Still feels all a bit wet under foot, not settling on driveway or pavements.

Burnham, Essex

Temp: 0.2c

Dew Point: -0.4c

Snow depth: 1cm approx

Coming down nicely now in Medway and sticking to grass and cars but not settling on concrete which we need it to really to get a good build up.

Settling everywhere in my part of Medway now so you should be good soon

It’s bizarre as some have a covering. My neighbours pavement does but ours is only a sprinkle. Same with road, some parts have a slushy cover others nothing!

Very fine snow being blown around in Surbiton for about an hour or so.

I'm going for a nice 8 mile walk today so hoping for something on the ground later to make the walk a bit different.

Pavements and roads going white now Chartham, but 250 ft asl i think that still makes a difference, even a bit of elevation.

Do you guys think the main band will come any more west, literally a few miles away from it

Temperature really needs to be -0c or below for snow to settle and not melt.

Also, the heavy rain during the night didn't help!

It’s been snowing lightly for about 3hrs. Not settling but has started to on the trees. Nowhere else. Just trees. Odd but looks nice.
I ordered a 2009 Thames Streamer. Hoping it will turn up

Heaviest it’s been so far. Still not settling on paths but starting to get the grass a bit whiter (it’s been snowing about 2.5 hours). Seems like it’s getting colder and the band is getting some intensity going - it would be ideal if this could last for hours. Seeing the pictures from further east that’s very impressive, surely somewhere will get to 10 inches?
