It has turned very pretty. It's taken 2 hours from sizzle to big fluffy flakes.

Yes. The wind seems to have dropped too.

Not exactly a whiteout yet, light snow blowing around in the breeze, probably a few cms accumulated, was expecting it to be heavier here what with the amber warning.

Why does it keep stopping? Why can't we have snowfall that actually keeps going instead of this weak fart! This isn't worth an Amber warning :(

I shouldn't complain as we are fairing better than others in the region but it's a shame the heavier bursts don't last more than a few mins!

Snizzle is getting heavier

I've got very heavy snizzle lol, the snow is so small, but there's lots of it, don't worry the cold and nice snow is here and will move further west as the cold moves west.

Same as Brighton. Just started snowing but very very lightly. I’ve been waiting for all week for Sunday to go out and take nice snowy photos. What we got is just wet streets and muddy garden

Winter wonderland if you don’t look at the road. Having said that, temp has just gone from +0.2 to -0.1 in the last 5 minutes and it’s starting to cover the pavement and patio slaps despite puddles.

No I’m not. I simply say things as I see them. And I’m talking about this ‘event’ not the week ahead.

So this event (which is still happening) is the biggest bust ever?

10p to 20p ... that's inflation for you

Temp dropped 3/4 of a degree in the last hour here in SE18. now 0.6C still no settle and fine grained snow.

Very light snow here in the village of Bexley.  Looks more encouraging for later though.

Same here in Upper Belvedere. Fingers crossed that it intensifies.

hahahaha what's making me laugh is that the sun is still poking it's head through the clouds, it's brighter today than it was most of last week

Still if it stays like this I reckon in about 657 million years time we'll have a few cm.

As @snowking posted yesterday the models are not very good at picking up convection from the North Sea . Look at the radar screen grab for 10am today further up the coast up north and look at the models at the same time . I hope this bodes well after this system moves away .

Looking at the radar I'm not seeing any real westward momentum. The main band of snow to the east of Colchester and Ipswich seems to be tracking s-sw so think winds would need shift more to a north easterly to stand any chance of the snow moving aross whole of London/south east. Although the winds are projected to back north easterly later this afternoon think the main area of snow will have passed by then ? Unless we can rely on Thames streamer effect to keeps things going but nothing in the forecast im reading to suggest that will happen ?

The band seems to have stalled right along the coastal strip of Essex/Suffolk. The snow here is now really heavy. Big fluffy flakes, low visibility and settling at a rate of knots. This could be pretty memorable for my area, shame more aren't involved.
