According to LBC's weatherman (none other than John Kettley) we might have persistent snow, for 24 hours!

Temp -1.5 now and still dropping.

Mainly light/moderate snow.

I'm in the Amber warning zone but trust me when I say we will not be seeing 10-15cm widely at this rate.

More like 1-3 .

Hope I'm wrong but it would really need to pick up intensity..

That's amazing to be on the coast and be that below freezing. In Maidstone I'm only just below 0°C.

Updated my snow depth map for England and Wales, valid until 12z on Monday (8th Feb). I've used a blend of high resolution models and radar trends. Delay to the transition to snow in SE and E Anglia this morning, and adjustment further east of Storm Darcy. But the heavier snow band seems to be slowly edging N and NW, particularly across E Anglia, for now.

Do you think we'll see that much here Nick? Just heavy dandruff currently. When are you expecting accumulations to start?

Still not a big laying here, beggining to get worrid for no reason it just sees like i'm not going to geet much as the inds stopping it frm properly raining, although it's probably because o the amount of rain that felt that I might have to wait a while for it to properly settle.

Could Cambridge take the unofficial title of the UK's Most snowless place? Too far east too far south and sometimes too far north this time too far west too far inland for showers wow we are so unlucky!

Nothing doing in Horley, Gatwick, where the sun is peeping through the clouds, albeit tiny flakes blowing in the wind. MetO’s text overnighter (written five hours ago) continues to be the opposite of what’s on show - for now. Let’s hope they know something we can’t see.

i’m on the border of your 5-10cm and 10-15cm area, do you know something i don’t? might even be inside your 10+ area hard to tell, but i’m only expecting 2-3cm from flurries later maybe

Right. I am now much more optimistic.

Radar shows the precip band building & intensifying, slowing moving westwards. If you're in N Kent, Essex, NW Kent & E London, snow will be with you in the next few hours and once it sets in, it wont be going anywhere fast.

MO Amber warning looks bang on at the moment, wonder if they'll be any adjustments between 10-10:30.

It was always going to be Hawkinge. Is it settling in ramsgate now? It has started settling here after like 16 hours plus of rain

Very fine flakes being driven by the strong wind. Slowly building up on grass and plastering surfaces exposed to the wind. Not settling on roads or pavements. Temp just above freezing at 0.3.
