Can anyone confirm temps and dews in the Worthing area, have been having issues with the humidity / temp sensor on weather station recently, currently it’s showing 3.3c with a dew of 1c.

Very light snow blowing in the wind here in Haywards Heath (West Sussex/East Sussex border) but doesn’t look as though we’re going to get any laying snow from this particular event. Still, the cold is now in and hopefully more surprises will follow.

Steady snow since 07:15 here in East Suffolk. Very gusty. Hopeful of a decent covering by this afternoon.EE9101C3-A30E-4BFD-8C9D-17576A333441.thumb.jpeg.1b0d91e1f0ba8f7b9453d4bdc7acc32c.jpeg

Morning

Rollercoaster of emotions overnight - went to bed at 1am, still pouring as expected. Woke at 4am by the cat and it was 1.0c which it looks like it had been sat at for well over an hour. Very despondent at that point and went back to sleep.

Woken at 6.30am by the cat again (she’s poorly) and it was snowing, roofs covered and starting to stick to the grass). Woke up properly a short while ago and all is white!!

Will get outside for a measure shortly but looks like it’s a couple of cm for now with current temp 0.1c with a DP of -0.3c.

Hi-res models....

hmmm, yes, trust those models...

The only way to avoid disappointment for you then is to delete any apps, rescind your membership here and look out the window. Go native.

Temperatures were never going to be low enough for any light snow to settle.

Frozen surface required. ❄️ ❄️

Same old story lately!

You seem rather unlucky at the moment most place’s near you are getting heavy snow

Heavier stuff coming down in Wakering now and beginning to settle on the grass and roofs

That's good to hear, looks like the heavier stuff is very slowly edging west.

Haha, I think many have mis-interpreted the models imo. UKV 06z for today & yesterday's UKV 06z are almost identical for midday today, if anything further N which should benefit us later.

Actually had some heavy snow for a time last night, all very wet and suddenly turned to drizzle.

Looks like its settling in Lowestoft (UK's most Easterly point) - so hope for all of you over in the SE...?

<<EDIT: I'm not watching this regional thread as there is zero snow over here this morning....honest   >>

This is a station in Worthing - if you look on the map, just click on a station near to you. Hope that helps!

Doing OK here atm, heavier stuff forecast from around 11am for a few hours, sticking to everything apart from the roads and pavements

Just over near Wadhurst and it's looking similar. Light or moderate snow by turns starting to settle everywhere, although struggling with road thus far.

Disappointing it's so late but clearly plenty of ppn out there - just need it to nudge 5 miles west or so as we're just a shade outside the heavier band, which is frustrating...

Very light snow flying around in the very heavy wind here in Dorking. There was a bit of a mad flurry but now back to a few flakes blowing on the wind.

The Met Office forecast is being extremely bullish for the Amber warning area and indeed for an area extending outside it - am a lot more optimistic than I was an hour ago!

That’s good to hear! The heavier precipitation must have just reached you, hopefully we’re not too far behind! The radar seems to be on slow motion
