We now have near-blizzard conditions; snow blowing off roofs and visibility falling!?‍♂️

What a difference a few miles make, still light flurries blowing in the wind here.

So people are talking about streamers at the moment, is this happening at the same time as the main storm Darcy or does it look like Darcy has stalled further East?

Please. Don't expect anything. Nothing so far has gone the way it was supposed to. You'll only get disappointed

Light snow just started here. Gonna need a lot more now to cover for the lemon show during the night.

I think it may have..... yes maybe...... yep, I can quite confidently see... that it's stopped.

Great to hear as I'm not too far from you (near Framlingham). It's certainly looking wintery out there now; much better than it looked when I woke up at 5.30am!

We were talking about this the last few days.. Models finally smelling the coffee and seeing them like I said in my post just now impossible to pin point any streamers

Both the UKV and the AROME have been showing these streamers shifting westwards, even the GFS has had a few hints about it as well at times.

Its probably going to be our best chance at getting a dusting or more unless the Thames throws up a surprise Monday night once the winds are fully ENE throughout the different atmosphere levels, though even then the wind is shifting through towards the East so it won't last too long even if it forms in one place.

Slight icy sound as the drizzle is flung against the window by a horrible gale.

Deeply foul weather.

I did see some snowflakes being battered around in the wind.

Current temps at the grammar school:

 1.8c

dp: 0.9c - this has come down fast in the last hour.

Morning. Woken up to this in the centre of Folkestone. Didn't think it would be laying just yet based on numerous reports, so if it's doing that here - I will be very intrigued by what it's doing up towards my old mother's place at the bottom of Dover Hill. Not to mention Hawkinge especially.

Pleasantly surprised. Hope you all get what's deserved.

Well I have snow falling, white hills white cars but the ground has nothing. Looks like it must have been sleet most of the night.

Looking at the current radar + the high res models this is my rough estimate. We're not quite done with the westerly extent yet, quietly confident the heavier precip will setup roughly in the biggest box.

Looks good I’d maybe nudge that 10cm box a little more into Kent cover ashford and Canterbury, it won’t let me zoom in so you may have that covered already lol

So I take it that the Kent peeps are all getting pure snow now?

It’s slowly laying on the roads and pavements. I’d expect them to be white in the next hour, however, the wind is terrible. Raw!!

Snap! Who knows, maybe we'll get a bit more than I'm expecting.

Think we'll need a heavy burst of proper snow for about half an hour just to get the ground prepped for a covering. If it's more patchy and outside the main band to the east I think we could find ourselves snookered.

Good luck!

Oh yes ,much better.

We now at settling speed
