It’s amazing that weather can be the most tranquil and rewarding hobby, yet it can also shave a decade off of your life span from poor sleep and chronic stress

Agree, roll on Spring!

Dewpoint now -0.1c here so people in Kent the cold is rapidly heading towards you so where the Mid Kent Streamer is happening at the moment expect the transition soon too all snow down there, its looking epic for you guys

It’s picked up here very rapidly. Now got a covering on everything except roads and pavements. However, the puddles are still and turning slushy. This highlights the misconception it’s too wet to lay! Hope you see some Paul, you deserve it, thanks for the fab posts.

Snowing in Chelmsford but it'll have a bugger of a job settling.

Very windy.

Think a cm or two might be more realistic for here now, as we seem to have been a bit unfortunate with the way the dice fell.

Never mind, still be fun radar watching today and hope the favoured spots get some streamer action later into the cold spell

There some very intense stuff on way.

And it's moving slow.

Very small snow grains, settling a little on cars and shed roof. The wind is pretty gusty too. Come on big snow where are you

Thanks, haven't checked the radar as a bit deflated and haven't woken up yet!

Had in my mind that we'd need at least 2 to 5 cms by now to hit the top end of the warning estimates, so I've just knocked that off. Highly scientific

How's it going in Colchester?

Hello trouble, didn’t expect to see you on here. Deliveries cancelled tomorrow?

Nothing here just to the west of Brentwood.

Its just starting, it will be patchy to start with. And the more widespread snow will come this afternoon/tonight as it looks.

I’m wondering if that zone is setting up and the Amber zone will be 30 miles or so east of where it was forecast - or whether it’s still going to edge west and affect where the met office originally stated. Tough to tell

Why would anyone need reassurance or understanding from a stranger on an internet forum??

Perspective needed here, its not a life or death situation - its grown adults throwing their toys out of the pram because it hasn't snowed.

Again, as you ignored my previous reply, I can't see much toy throwing. Certainly not from me, anyhow. Last night I said we wouldn't see anything like the amounts being suggested and was called a troll! I want it to snow as much as the next person on here, but there's nothing wrong with calling it as you see it, even if that isn't the populist view.

Anyway, fingers crossed for the rest of the day, hey?

Well I won't lie, I thought everything would be further along by now, but it does still all look on course albeit a few hours behind schedule
