6.30am on Sunday and people are writing off an event that is set to last at least a week. Happens every time. People are desperate to have a moan, knock forecasters and write things off immediately.

Maybe but most of us are lay people. I couldn't begin to understand the complexities involved. Look at a few weeks back when we were due that big event from the South West. Good snowfall touted. What happened? It slid way in to Northern France hardly dropping a flake. Its been a crap year, don't blame people for being disappointed. Great if it happens but people are tired of it going tits up at the last moment, and it can so often go tits up. Instead of mocking people maybe practice little understanding and reassure them eh?

Finally, settling Chatham, 3 miles hills SW of Canterbury. It's just a bit late that's all and temps were a bit higher and took a while to come down. Right, back to sleep

Actually better to see animation you can see NW movement of band.

So to me that looks like a slider down the East Coast staying offshore of Clacton and running through the east side of Sheerness, it looks like its almost reached its North western pivot point. But needless to say the next hour will ultimately define how far into land it gets.

Have I got that right ?

Still looks like a Mid Kent Clipper in my books but I am learning all the time

Ok I take back my previous concerns about Clacton. There appears to be a mid level circulation over NW France which is pivoting the axis of the precip quite quickly towards the East Anglian coast.

Snowing now here in Coppins rd area of Clacton, settling on cars

It's what you would expect from a nursery school playground.

Funny to read but gets frustrating after a while.

Why? What's more childish is how quickly people gang up on anyone who posts something that goes against the grain. All I said was that we weren't going to get anything like the amounts being bandied about, what's wrong with that? It's not wrong. Yes, we're a few hours in, yes, there are plenty of chances down the line. But if we can't comment unless we're blindly accepting of the mass view that we're all going to get 20-40cm, then that's just sad.

Also just to add most people should start seeing anything falling as wintry with dew points across the region hovering around zero and only heading in one direction ...

Went out to de-ice the car about 30 mins ago, and it was just wet........ like everything else out there lol but just went out again and all the water on the car is suddenly frozen........ no precepitation at the moment in Lowestoft but think the air just changed suitably for when it gets here.
