Although I am getting slightly concerned about flooding here as it’s still just heavy rain

looking at the latest radar trend, I reckon for the next couple of hours anywhere east of a line from Eastbourne to Sheerness will probably do ok - west of that - forget for now

Several miles ESE of Sheerness here and I can confirm there's no problems with precip amounts - it's been raining most of the morning so far.

Keep checking the NW radar. To the South East of me there's a couple of bands of Heavier snow but crap here at present..

Happy to report that finally at 5:55am I am seeing what appears to be snow falling! I was in bed when a crack in the window let in what sounded like a chunk of ice coming in & shattering. I then checked the window and the rest is history. Wind’s also really picking up now. Now the settling part... i’m back off to sleep & seeing what the morning brings!

Lmfao what a let down so far.

All the PPN seems to magically vanish about 15 miles North of my location on the radar, but looking at dew points mothing would be settling in any case.

Guess it will be a day of radar watching but im not hopefull.

If we miss out AGAIN from this I think i'll hang my hat up as a snow lover and just become a sun worshiper instead.

Same here, if this goes bust then bring on the Spring. Won't be following this thread up the garden path again.

I don’t mean to moan but I can’t help feeling frustrated but all the last min chopping and changes after the event already being watered down for us further west.

Probably my fault though.

i brought 2 sledges for my children on Thursday which I paid express delivery for costing £31 to ensured they arrived by Monday so I may well have added to the jinxes and tempted fate there! And secondly I made the mistake of telling people. I should have known better!  So sorry from me

A question now I’d i may.... Can anyone tell me why the radar says my location has been under precipitation for hours yet nothing’s falling?? Thanks

It sometimes dissipates before it hits the ground, esp when very light.

The Met forecast is odd - should they not be singling out Kent? It implies the whole region will see a lot of snow.

Suddenly turned to sleet here in Clacton with a biting wind. The amount falling out of the sky is rather more than the radar would suggest.

Might squeeze a centimetre out of this event after all.
