Throwing in the towel too soon for your location. You never know what could pop up.

I'm not seeing enough instablity present (you can already see the rough impacted area on the radar, instalbity is not going to be any higher down the line so it won't be going any further west than present). within the models to suggest a Thames streamer will get far enough west for myself at the moment, I think one will form at some point but more like a Feb 05 than a Feb 09 type deal. Good locally for those exposed to it, but it won't get that far west, and I'm too far downstream for a weak/moderate event which I think it will be IF it forms.

I don't doubt there will be some flurries about, maybe I can grab one of those arcing convective bands which may drop a quick fire 1-2cms tomorrow evening, but other then that I think its game over on that the snow front here.

Just went outside to put the rubbish in the bin, notable binned items include all weather related apps on phone, and the daily mail / express

Could you explain?

It's supposed to say kink, there a small low in it, it's what sending stuff further north, was meant to be in the channel.

EURO4 18z and UKV 21z beginning to show some very large accumulations now and more widespread than previous runs.

You got any charts to hand quick?

Any idea on how its looking for Crawley?

I have attached the associated charts, both btw show 'actual snow accumulation by the end of their respective runs'

Expect UKV is being slightly conservative further inland.

I think the main low (2 centres) one near NE France and one nearer the German /Dutch border I think are further south than that precip band to the north (at a guess) if anybody wants to correct me? That 'kink' in the precip band I think is a milder sector which phases out.

Good, although it's inductive of a small low or wave, if it's due to phase out I'll stop worrying, just hope it does it nice and quick.

Just stuck my head out the door and there’s definitely a sleety element here which is extremely surprising as a) it’s early and b) I’m a long way to the south of the region.

There Is a green blob fairly near on the radar so I guess it could be that

Ignore the curl for now further east. Can you see the slight curl forming to the south of the SE between the two images (its suble for now)

That is moving slowly ESE and get absorbed by a new low that forms over NE France eventually. The precip/cloud will wrap around the northern flank and move westwards around its northern side.

Its a fairly complex pattern to be fair.

Thank you.

Thats is nothing short of shockingly poor further west in the region on the UKV to be fair! you can see the amber warning very nicely on that chart however!

I think that does back up my view that the whole of the west of this region is going to be looking very green over the next few days, as bluearmy said earlier most will be looking for ice as the main risk, not snow.

Again, those of you who are further east better get some great photos for us folks further west who will have to make do with brown and green landscapes, and gray skies!

I'm 100% rooting for you guys to nail it further east btw!! No jealousy here as i know how difficult it can be for you guys to get snow having been from there myself!

Two screenshots from the Met Office infrared satellite from this evening.  If anyone can tell me that Darcy's leading edge (over Germany) isn't moving E/NE and the trailing edge arced back over France also isn't moving E/SE then they can see something in the movement that I can't.  Anyway, bedtime now.  I look forward to being wrong...
