First time being on this thread and Jesus it’s worse than the model discussion thread..

relax. Stop looking at apps, it’s coming. It should move more inland from 6am.. so if you wake up and no snow don’t cry.
trust me some places are gonna get caked.

Yes, eastwards.  Look at the Met Office infrared radar and play it forward from this afternoon.  The Darcy system (the bright arc of cloud) expands slowly north but also tracks E/SE as a whole at the same time.

The area of low pressure remains in situ and channels moisture into East Anglia and the SE for the next 24 hrs.

I’ll see you 40 and raise you 44! At least being a Fulham fan inures you against existential pain. Including snow pain ??

Ivor was my hero - I wanted to call our first son Gordon but my wife flatly refused - despite coming to games and getting the Fulham bug !

Apps are a waste of time this close to the event. Don't forget the sea is a huge warm body of water convection will happen and the ppn will build up and come in as snow.  Its a now forcast ignore apps and models.  Its a low pressure system that will drag I  cold air as it moves away.

Exactly. I can’t understand the doom-mongering posts when the event hasn’t even started!

Going exactly to plan here as far as I can tell. Temp dropping about a degree every 90 minutes, down to 3.8c now with a DP of 3.3c.

Link to my garden weather station if anyone wanted to take a look..

Cheers Lottie

Love that graph with the Temps and Dewpoints - couple of hours I reckon before things get very interesting.

Getting closer, love this part seeing snow reports slowly creep toward your location

That’s not creeping towards Chelmsford ! You need to look in the North Sea to see what snow you may receive if any

Sitting here thinking about it, I’m  not sure why I’m so obsessed with snow.

Maybe because it’s just so rare? I wonder if I lived in Iceland if I’d be as obsessed as I am.

Sorry about thinking out loud, onto some stress of hoping it snows this evening!

Last post for me tonight , will expect to wake up to a snowy vista in the morning in Canterbury. Now 3.5C , temperature has dropped 0.6 C in last 30 minutes. So colder than the Meto prediction and a little cooler than the Netweather one, but certainly much closer. Makes me think that the snow may just start a little earlier than predicted, 1-2 Am rather than 2-3 if you intend to lamp post watch. Good luck keep safe..

Exactly!... a lot of doom mongers (mainly located towards the west of the region). Paul Sherman commented that this regularly happens in here before a possible snowfall.

I love how optimistic you are! It honestly fuels me.

Im in South East London so I’m hoping the intensity does drift into London to give significant accumulations.
