The met are sticking to their guns, amber remains in place, maybe less totals west of region.

With 'Darcy' expanding but still moving E/SE as a system, unless its expansion is faster than its movement away it will miss the UK entirely at the current rate of progress.

Really !!

If you want an example of how models underestimate convective showers, take a look at the 12z EURO4 prediction for around now

Then take a look at what’s happening off the East of Scotland

Pretty much bang on in the south though

Eastwards ? Not sure if serious or a wind up.

Yes, eastwards.  Look at the Met Office infrared radar and play it forward from this afternoon.  The Darcy system (the bright arc of cloud) expands slowly north but also tracks E/SE as a whole at the same time.

Let’s actually tell the real facts here the majority of models give snowfall to a large swathe of SE. UKMO and ECM pretty much have remained unchanged today, the UKV and AROME are looking isolated and judging by radar imagery over Benelux with limited NW extent are likely to be off. It seems some here take the apps as a gospel and go into panic mode very silly.

Thanks for this, it needed saying but i personally couldn't be bothered to. My iggy function has never seen so much action

Metoffice app 24 hours ago showed heavy snow for my area tomorrow, now shows dry apart from light snow at 20.00, i think the metoffice should be scrapped if this is the case as they are crap

Take a look at the Met Office infrared radar and play it forward from this afternoon and see the system's overall movement.  This isn't a model, it's the reality of what has been happening.

It’s been so long since a proper snow event that I’d forgot what a hell hole this thread became in the countdown till the snow arrives, it’s amazing that some frozen water falling from the sky can turn normal human beings into manic, froth mouthed lunatics
