Temp, dropped like a stone down to 1.7c  as heavy burst, with loads of large wet flakes mixed in now, here in Cambs

worth remembering that the big push of cold from the north and east was between 9pm and 3am - that has been modelled quite consistently for a couple of days now - so everything is going to plan.

Watching the radar, with precipitation moving east is a very strange feeling, such an unusual thing for the U.K. I thought I had the radar on rewind

For those in S.Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, keep an eye on that area of precip behind the main band, that could well come in as snow providing it doesn't decay too far. Higher ground would almost certainly get 1-2cms from it should it make it, maybe dusting at lower levels.

Am I right in saying that any early snow being reported on here already is not that from Darcy? remnants of the batch that moved west/south west earlier?

Any darcy snow should start right on the east coast? Maybe Great Yarmouth area?

The stuff now going a little sleety is the occlusion associated with the limpet low we’ve had across the country for days now sinking away west

That was subsequently delayed to early hours people who have reported wintriness that’s ahead of schedule.

Snowing now in Dunstable- we are 500ft up though in the Chilterns - but about an hour earlier than expected going by met office.

for our West Ham friends posting earlier - I thought Fulham were the better side tonight and deserved to win the game. You have had a terrific season though for which you deserve great credit.

Just couldn’t put it in the onion bag, champ here we come

I'm amazed at the push into Kent with sleetiness - observations are not supporting this particularly - didn't expect anything south of London until 1am at the earliest.

Moving west? I know what you mean - it reminds of the summer storms that come over from the continent

It usually moves east; moving west is less common.
