Well it's not for me to respond, but I'm seeing some worrying signs here.

Originally met had us down for 41 straight hours of light snow, with 6 hours of heavy mixed in, then that improved to 40 hours of snow with 10 hours heavy mixed in. Now sadly we're down to 34 hours of snow with 8 hours heavy.

Basically a write off before it's even begun...

I'm going to assume this is a joke?

Think this is probably a rogue reading - nothing else until you go about 30 miles north - but sleety mix now become much more widespread across Cambridgeshire

Temp been dropping steadily last few hours from a high of 9c to 4c now but still just plain rain here and been lots and lots of it again today.

Doesn't sound too disastrous to me tbh....

Was just joking... People like to catastrophise on here. Looks good in the East and southeast of the region for some inches. Further west, decent chances of at least a layer, and better chances are a day or two away.

Unfortunately I can see this starting to fizzle out for anything but the extreme tip of Kent as the main front seems to be moving erratically SE - away from us.  Rain and sleet continue over much of the SE area, but snow confined to the higher parts of Thanet.

Right people ignore your apps and meto warnings it’s doing my head in lol just look at the radar. No excuses...Apps are based on information that is anything up to 6-12 hours old

Best advice is , just to look outside

Here is the new run in full. That's a lot further east that previously with the heavier snow pushed to tomorrow night and Monday.

Harmonie still the best option for our region.

Yall ready for this Lol

Great isn't it. I think many might not have truly processed the wind element. Not often you get such persistent and strong wind with heavy snow, will be really dramatic where the heavier stuff falls.

Just out of interest which higher parts of Thanet are you referring to

I'd do an awful lot just to get an hour of heavy snow!

The only radar I use but when sitting in an amber zone 2 weeks ago in EA with good radar precip right over `me`, epic fail. Good guide yep, certainly not a given.

Hi Stuie. The Netweather radar obtains its data feed from the Met Office radar network. As no doubt do most if not all the other radar applications mentioned during this evening. Each then put their own 'presentation' on this data to present the precipitation in their app. There are well known reasons why rainfall can appear on a radar but it's not raining on the ground.

Here's more from our very own Jo Farrow in a blog: Understanding Weather Radar
