Bit of a downgrade, haven't seen the entire 18Z run yet, but the latest UKV pushes the heavier snow to extreme eastern parts of Essex, North Kent looks the sweet spot right now.

That being said, 6-9cm would be the best estimate from 02:00 Sunday until 18:00 Monday for much of south Essex.

Thanks Tom

hopefully it can push 10/20 miles further west

Wind picked up massively outside.

Dread to think of me walking in that windchill tomorrow.

Not going sledging in cherry orchard?

18Z MO high-res run is rather poor, it has to be said. Heaviest snow is now pushed to Sunday night into Monday!

Hopefully not a trend

I remember an event a few years ago where roads were treacherous with ice because the grit put down had been washed clean away by heavy rain before it turned to snow, I think the same is going to happen this time too!!

My 90% heavy snow from 3am-6am has changed to light snow from 4am and carrying on all day with between 40-60ish% chances (on Meto app) so bit of a downgrade but I'm aware that's not fixed!

I plan on getting an earlier night tonight so I can wake earlier tomorrow and see what's happening outside the window!! I know I'll wake early wondering anyway, lol!!! Good luck everyone!xx

I lived in Ashtead from October 1981 to 1986.  I recall the 1981/2 winter there fondly.

Not that NW's "will it" are anything to go by, but according to it I have a 4% chance of snow tomorrow, and a 95% chance on Monday.

Decreasing in intensity ?

It hasn't started yet and i've seen nothing model wise to suggest that is the case.

Do you have any links ?

Well it's not for me to respond, but I'm seeing some worrying signs here.

Originally met had us down for 41 straight hours of light snow, with 6 hours of heavy mixed in, then that improved to 40 hours of snow with 10 hours heavy mixed in. Now sadly we're down to 34 hours of snow with 8 hours heavy.

Basically a write off before it's even begun...

I know Darren Bett isn’t a fan of cold. But I love watching old forecasts on YouTube. You could genuinely see some of them getting excited as a big event approached.

I miss Rob McElwee. One of the best.

Hmm, the met office app has removed the heavy snow symbols overnight and tomorrow for here...

?‍♂️ Why can’t they leave the symbols off until they’ve got 50%+ confidence!

Right people ignore your apps and meto warnings it’s doing my head in lol just look at the radar. No excuses...Apps are based on information that is anything up to 6-12 hours old

Increasingly smug that I’ve told the kids for days now, not to get excited for tomorrow and despite what they saw in the media that they wouldn’t be building a snowman .......of course if I’m wrong they won’t care so that a win win for me !

I cannot see a red warning being issued for this event, as the likelihood won't be high enough until it pretty much arrives. Even then, some areas in the zone will see a lot of snow whilst others with have relatively little, they won't apply a red warning unless 99% certainty and widespread within the said zone.

By the time any impactual precipitation is overhead everything is stale data... I agree knock the apps off.. and switch to the radars....it’s coming!!!!

Really chucking it down outside now. The temperature is properly falling now, around 2c so maybe a little wintriness on the back edge of this band of rain.

Sleet/Snow being reported in the Netherlands now, showing up just on the edge of our radars... Also everything across the uk is being pushed west/south west as the north east/east winds increase... Going well so far!!
