- Watch West Ham take another 3 points.

- Match of the day.

- Quick 2 hours lamppost watching.

I've been watching nearly every BBC news channel forecast since lunchtime (well the Saturday night/Sunday part) and I didn't hear that phrase used once. The uncertainty stressed was the northern & western extent of the band but it was confidently expressed that Essex Kent etc would be affected by heavy snow & blizzard like conditions & 'potentially' extending into the London area etc too. That's been the jist from the last few forecasts

Ah okay thank you, was referencing something up in the thread but I hadn’t watched it, so that’s good to hear. Keeping fingers crossed for SE London...

I will be staying up tonight to see the first snowflake. I love it when the rain changes to snow.

First, you have icy blobby rain, then the very occasional white streak flash past. Following that, definite snowflakes in the rain, and these then become more significant until wet snow alternates with sleet. Finally, there is no rain and the snow loses that wet feeling and we start seeing it stick on cars and a few other surfaces. Then the event is well underway.

Lovely description any ideas on a timeframe for those changes in your neck of the woods..

The predicted rain hasn't really happened in any significant way yet. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

It's just off shore now, looks like a streamer like we had a few week back for now.

Temperature is falling away quite fast now, was almost 10c an hour or so ago but is now 7.8. Hopefully these are the warmest temps for a while! Raining too ??⛄

Taking one last look out at the green grass in the garden as it begins to get dark, I hope not to see it again for at least a week! lol

But isn’t this personal interpretation what the mod thread is all about? Generally you could say their track record is not very good on many occasions. But that might be because the data on offer has a wide spread. Also the media weather forecasts are based on different models with some saying the BBC isn’t much good nowadays.

Until you see it actually happen nobody is entirely sure what weather we will get.

We can keep our fingers crossed for a good dump. Plenty of snow as well.

Yes mate hope we get some I think you’re quite well placed for a few cm’s

HARMONIE does give a more westerly spread. This model did quite well on the event a few weeks back.

Fingers and toes crossed for those on west side

Just signed up to this site after lurking for a long time.

Going by your username you may be a good one to ask about our chances here in Prestwood, Gt. Missenden, are we likely to see snow?

Those of you pulling an all nighter! True dedication (or desperation). Can't fault you for it though. Been rather snow starved haven't we? I love my bed but will probably curtain twitch in desperation. A nice Sunday morning walk up the nature reserve which is very local for a picture before spending the day with many hot chocolates and biscuits watching snow out the window. Heaven!
