Solid 20cm by the end of Sunday

Monday to Wednesday god only knows all down to luck of the streamers after that

And then the breakdown whenever that might be

Exciting times

What’s your opinion for Maldon/ Danbury ? We’re in the amber but kind of tucked in along the coast.

Bet you wish you were back in Thurrock in Essex?

Sure you'll get some light snow

That low moving from the west across N France could potentially brush some snow across Hampshire and W Sussex Tuesday if it tracks further north, though not a strong probability for now.

Haha yep, gonna be another classic to go along with the likes of 09, 91 and 87 I think over that neck of the woods! I'm ok about it this time though as I got a decent fill of snow 2 weekends ago.

I do think it will snow here, but I think based on previous experience it will be snizzle and basically not settle really and will get blown around in the wind, unless a really strong Thames streamer sets up, if its in the same ballpark as a 91, 87 or 09 it may well get this far west (it certainly easily did in 09 looking at the met office snow totals).

I think Tuesday is very unlikely, and actually I don't want it as light snow would probably kill off a streamer which will have a near perfect angle during Tuesday if that low stays far enough south. Who knows how it will attempt to breakdown, though I may end up being too far east for that as well!

If there was no lockdown I'd be travelling over there on Sunday for sure! But alas I'll have to cope with my dusting (if I get lucky!)

Even places further west that will have  no snow (such as my location possibly)

Indeed and at the same time its a wind up seeing historic snowfall event unfolding just to the southeast and we might get a dusting if very lucky. Can't even travel to see it because of covid

Honestly this is how I think it will go down in our region:

1: Maybe some slight snow on the backend of the front on Saturday night, could leave a dusting, especially with any altitude. Maybe 1-2cms above 150m

2: Snow showers coming in from the east, probably on the light side. They'll probably settle but melt in between as we won't have the cold nor deep enough snow cover in place required to keep things sub zero on Sunday. Probably 1-3cms but probably not at the same time, if that makes sense.

3: Mainly dry from Monday onwards with occasional snow showers coming in. *Maybe* a risk of a streamer (though I'm not sure if Petersfield might be a little too far south?)  which if it does come in stronger will be a real game changer totals. Otherwise probably looking at periodic light dustings.

4: Possible attempt at a snowy breakdown some point late this week, though that is highly uncertain, it may not get anywhere near this far east, or equally it may do, or indeed could end up way north. Hard to know this far out.

Regardless, going to be very cold, sub zero maxes probably Wednesday and Thursday, unless we have snow cover from a streamer in which case bring that forward 1-2 days.

Sorry if thats not very exciting, but our location is unfortunately probably not going to be getting all that much from this. We will probably have had more in 2hrs 2 weeks ago than we will have this entire week unless we get lucky with any breakdown.

I know these computer forecasts are not to be taken too literally, but the Metoffice now has my location on Thursday with a max of 2C and min of -1.  Earlier, it had a max of 4C and min of 1C.  Further evidence of a delay in the breakdown?

Think midnight Sat - 3am Sunday for me on the border of NE London and W Essex, temperatures predicted to drop 6 degrees in as many hours.

Well my Google weather has sleet at one am and snow storm at two am. Although obviously you can't really go by that. It'll be easier to say from tomorrow evening's high Res output.

Can I ask: why is it that posts about the Covid vaccine are removed yet posts comparing the attributes of TV presenters are allowed?  - yes, I guess you could claim a weather connection, but surely there's a more appropriate thread somewhere on this website.....

There is a dedicated Covid discussion area - they are being moved to there.
