Don’t forget us in E Sx Dave!

That latest MO video is a bit of a concern. Would be a real kick in the n**s for us if our corner maintained our record so far this winter of not even seeing a snowflake.

Sorry - i missed E Sx, was hard to see through the tears in my eyes.

well that puts us in thanet into marginality, but bbc and meto for ramsgate show light snow all day on sunday

Note sure if it was 1991 or 1996, but we had a decent easterly set up and in Thanet where I lived at the time snow depths were a cm or two but 15 miles west in Canterbury where I was working the snow was 25/30cm deep. Hopefully that doesn't turn out to be the case this time!

This cold spell could be so good it might even lead to independence for the East Anglians on the regional threads as in other notable years!!!

Was never quite sure which I belongs to when the  south East and the East Anglian regions split.... I always felt a bit like a Cornish nationalist shouting in the wind whenever I suggested a Northern Home Counties thread

Thought it might have been snow blindness.

I swear if all we get is cold rain, I will never follow a potential cold spell again. On paper, this is perfect for east kent!

You say that, but you'd be back next time - the snow demon cannot be defeated!

I wouldn't be overly concerned about what the GFS.

It does have a habit of pulling these sorts of ideas out, however its got very little support from any of the other models. Its definitely an outlier when you look at the entire suite as a whole.

Also remember that in this sort of flow -1/2C will probably be ok at 850hpa due to the flow coming from Belgium/NE France.

GFSP is interesting as it is really developing that LP quite strongly and takes it way west.  Looks like its an outlier as well sadly as it gives a decent snow event on Sunday for the whole region.

GFSP basically a rerun of 1-2nd December 2010, which given the amount of snow that gave to the southern coastal counties, a little marginality afterwards wouldn't be a disaster.with several inches on the deck.

in answer to paul and you, I would be glad if there was only 2cm on the ground (enough to say it snowed) but the weather will do what it will do and no amount of wishing will make it happen

Very much wishing I was in EA right now.   Some great pics should come out of there in 3 days time.

It does seem Cambridgeshire/ Norfolk/Suffolk are in for a fairly good amount of snow come this time on Sunday.

GFS/ Meto also confirming this.

If there is an Amber warning issued tomorrow it’s most likely these counties as well as parts of Essex.

I'll probably log out of the forums for good too, it will be the biggest let down I've ever experienced if that happens

If your worried about any milder section, no need to worry on the 12z UKMO:

This definately goes to show though that evolution is still uncertain for Sunday. UKMO and the GFS/P is further west, the GEM is further east, though it still is close enough to give snow for most (though only dusting further west) whilst the ICON is kinda in the middle. ARPEGE is with UKMO/GFS in terms of placement but weaker than those two models.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding people but Steve Murr isn’t saying the GFS forecast is rubbish, meaning he’s disappointed at the outcome, he means the GFS forecast is rubbish in the way it handles the low and it’s a poor forecast that probably won’t transpire. The UKMet know this country the best and their model has been ultra consistent the last few days. They’re right to stress some marginality caution but I imagine that’s partly covering their back if there’s a change

Hey guys are we doing it again with the apps.... I have a feeling we are. The MO has not changed at all and is still showing snow to my area from Sunday through to Tuesday. We will get upgrades and downgrades. This is to be expected. I think we can safely say one thing it is going to be alotbof fun as we are 72 hours from the first of potential re-load opportunities. As @Paul Sherman calls it Goofus does not do snow well. No downgrades from any other one that I can see.
