North West Kent will definitely get snow this weekend right? Seeing people on my Facebook saying we won't even after me sharing the met warnings and some charts etc

As a fellow near south coaster I share your pain from previous events, however, on this occasion it’s not sounding as though marginality is going to be an issue for us, at least for Sunday.

As always, in this type of set up I get more nervous at missing out on the precipitation, though the fact this is spending more “frontal” will hopefully make this less of a concern for anyone. Glass half full, we get both the persistent stuff and the convection!

Yes - similar sentiments from further west along the coast. However we have had snow here before on several occasions, although it's been a while!

Well folks it's been a long, long chase and for the most unfortunate in our region it's been since 2018.

But we're finally on the cusp of what looks like a cracking week of cold and snow, of course we're not quite there yet but we're oh so close!

Sunday can't come soon enough, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief as we finally watch the snow fall!!

Good luck to everyone in the SE & EA in the week ahead!

Brighton still looks like it's on the edge  these lows from atlantic keep pushing the cold air to north, so annoying, they just keep coming!

I’m not worried by them yet plenty of time for them to trend south which they normally always do white this sort of set up

I suspect I will have to get my small plank of wood out on Saturday.

Measuring will be a hard job in the tremendous blizzards accumulating in 0.2 cm

Also, with drifts up to 1cm, it will be tough out there!

OK, without wanting to get totally carried away, as the projected snow totals will vary as we get closer to the time... I wonder to which easterly of the past we might compare this against come next Sunday?

Suppose this will depend on what we get coming off the Atlantic next week.

Looks a decent event as it stands, but could be epic for some!

I'd recommend guns also - possibly complete breakdown of civilisation from Sunday.

I hope it don’t affect the vaccination programme too much! I would love 20 to 30cm of snow as everyone else, but I also want to see the back end of covid through vaccines and we have one of the best vaccine programs in the world! Something to be proud of, I just hope the snow don’t hinder that

I think it's inevitable that there will be some disruption.

However it doesn't usually stay very cold for too long, so hopefully won't completely derail the program

So just to put this down and come back to it first part of next week Neil in North Kent is predicting 0.2cm and Ian in Surrey is predicting 1cm.

Will come back to Page 32 next week to see how close your predictions are thanks for those guys

An example of BBC Meteo's forecasts' nonsense - screenshot from a minute ago - while the south of England is under a large area of heavy rain which has been approaching for hours, the BBC sticks to its "light showers" rubbish.

No this is true especially in the south, I’m really looking forward to the snow, but also want covid banished lol so it’s mixed feelings, silly thing to worry over I suppose

Pretty sure my location at home will see something, however the only site that doesn't forecast snow for me on Sunday is N/W. Checked the N/W charts and all looks ok for ppn, snow risk etc. Is this right?

I think they are a bit underwhelming predictions to be honest and would expect most of the region to get between 2-3 Inches or 6-8cm of Snow by Monday with lucky spots seeing 6 Inches or 10-15cm

Uppers aren't great on that chart but might just be enough . . . -12 would have been all systems go without question

Could be a bit more Paul - the beeb are dragging the continuous band of heavy snow, further and further south with each run - yesterday it was EA and Midlands and today it covers most of our region.

My "1cm drifts" comment was jocular in response to the "0.2cm" level depth.  Who knows, the North Downs could see 10cm+ but everything is speculation even up to the figurative last minute.

Aha that makes sense then, yes 0.2cm could easily turn into 1cm up against an east facing fence
