A dry night with clear periods. Altocumulus has increased from the south west since dawn and currently it's dry and cloudy. An indication of how marginal yesterday's snow cover was is very evident this morning. Not a trace of lying snow up to 330 mts, a few small patches at 335 mts and an 80% cover of about 1cm at 345 mts and above.

At 0900

Temp; -1.2c

24 hr max; 1.1c

24 hr min; -1.6c

Grass min; -4.2c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0900; 0.7 mm

Mean wind speed; 15 mph E

4 inches of snow very windy with easterly gales at times yesterday and a blizzard upto 5 foot drifts this morning in exposed areas...

Biggest drifting since the mini beast.

A min of -3.0c making all the under layer of slush and water turned into lethal ice.
