The river trent now at its peak through Notts..

Very lucky we didn't get the rain that was forecast further east, otherwise could have been very nasty..

here's a video I took earlier as the river breached locally...

Manchester Police now starting to evacuate Didsbury, many roads already closed by the Mersey. 3000 homes at risk.

Thankfully, I'm on the other side of Heaton Mersey. It was extremely high.

They say it was the rain changing to snow that slowed it down from bursting and stopped it from doing so, otherwise it would have done.

Hmm, a bit of deja-vu going on this week. Rain totals for Wednesday into Thursday looking quite concerning when you combine them with snowmelt and the fact the ground is already sodden and rivers already high.

Not t sure why the Met Office didn't put out flood warnings for today instead of snow as we've had alot of rain overnight topping up already high river levels.
