Spain Weather

Ecija 46.5c at 4pm Spanish time. 0.8c off the Spanish record. Whether it achieved that in around that hour we'll have to wait and see. Cordoba airport hasn't updated last hour that's one to watch. Some other locations have 47c from a map I saw on twitter but can't confirm the legitimacy of that.

As I posted in the Italy thread, I have a met office book  which gives climate averages/extremes etc. for Spain, and covers the period 1939-1960.

Seville hit a high of 48.8 on an August day during this time.

Surely we're not cancelling past weather extremes?

Obviously it didn't pass verification checks.

Indeed, sadly some of the so called big boys including NOAA Met office etc are as a Fact hiding data from the past to run there agenda on global warming. On August 13th 1966 a town in North Eastern Spain reached a dizzy height of 55c/ 131f. So again the media are telling the public lies.

Where are you getting this from? It isn't on google anywhere. A few temperatures of 50C were recorded in the 1870s and early 1880s but these were without Stevenson screens.

You said the other week that Worcestershire got above 40C in the 1930s, yet the hottest we saw was 36C in London during August 1932.

Are you just making up statistics off the top of your head to try and make an argument? because that is climate change denialism stooping to a new low if that is the case.

Why are gun owners usually dumb about technology and think 'pointing and shooting' is all there is to know and if you attempt to teach them technology or spark a debate or discussion they get all stupid and nothing but crap comes out of their mouths usually name calling.

Saharan dust has reached up through Europe this week. Calima is the Spanish phrase for this warm haze and there have been stunning satellite images and noticeable dust coverings.

After the dry Winter..... Spain is having one of its wettest Springs ,and the Rain in Spain just won't fall only on the Plain!...Bad news for holiday makers who have spent a fortune to go to the sun, sorry rain .Northern Blocking in the coming weeks shows no sign of bowing down, so the cool unsettled wet weather for Iberia and beyond in southern Europe  continues

Heavy rain this weekend for Alicante and Murcia with flooding linked to a frontal system across the Med to Italy and the Balkans.

The Canary Islands had heavy rain, strong winds and flooding due to ex- TS Hermine, a shortlived Atlantic tropical storm

My last day in Gran Canaria today, we had an aweful lot of rain yesterday, constant and heavy with some flooding, a short lived thunderstorm last night and very windy now today.

What a shame to encounter ex- Hermine. The videos from across the Islands have been terrible with landslips and flooding.

We came home from GC on Sunday the rain only spoilt our last full day but it was a bit sketchy flying out Sunday evening we were a good hour and a half into the flight before the clouds had gone
