Wouldnt be surprised to see some stonking ensembles in the next few runs.

In line with expectation around strat warming events and a good pre-cursor to a possible decent cold spell in the 14-21 day timeframe.

I would rarely reply to a gfs snow depth chart especially at that time range but can’t recall that being modelled for here before so image.thumb.gif.7ff9ab5be2113e7523a58fb112ad6cef.gif  hadn’t really looked at the models much over the last few days since my last post in here but nice to see the runs still popping up.

You can’t stop It from there....half the vortex...but given background signals and SSW knowledge it is quite a likely solution....let’s see what the morning runs bring.

What does one have to do to nuke those heights to the south! Get rid of those and that low can dive south and bingo - one very long flow right down from across the Arctic!

The Para cooking up something similar (but not as spectacular) as the Pub Run at 246

There’s about a 15c difference between south coast and northern Scotland ...could be a lot of IMBYism over the next week or so!

This is one of the weirdest looking model runs yet. Interesting to notice the 850’s being affecting by the Foehn effect downwind of the Pyrenees.

Trough digs south on the operational eventually but everything too far west.

Not worth worrying that far out anyway - trend is the friend here.
