4cm in Peterborough. Still snowing although lighter than earlier Met Office app showing snow, heavy later, til 7pm.

Looking at radar may well be that Peterborough is the pivot point for the front as it moves away eastward

First few flakes starting to fall now. Literally right on the precipice of this stalling front. Very lucky in my eyes. Wasn’t expecting the front to reach this far north by a long way!

Complete bust for me in tropical West Sussex, snow line north of the Sussex weald as I was thinking last night, far too marginal down here in Hassocks!

However,I promised my son he'd see snow so the 9cm in beare Green just north of Horsham was lovely. Had a feeling this was going to pan out this way!

Still snowing, smaller flakes now but still remarkable given the charts yesterday and nearby experiences, this place is an enigma- all or nothing. Topping out here at about 6cm.

Is the snow still forecasted to come back south this evening?

Yes but probably only light and patchy.

Stopped again now, Don't know if it'll restart again or not. Everything out side is soaked, and ready to ice up again now.

Surprises me the number of people who didn't believe in the Northern extent of the front today - the GFS got closest didn't it (again?). The Meto and Beeb were way out (again) - so my question is why do we all take what they forecast as gospel?! Anyway

As for me... it seems 5 miles West and they have 4cm of snow, and in Ely we've managed just small flurries - we are literally slap bang on the edge arghhh! Painful. As I speak it is dark and threatening though...we shall see

Ventured out to the nearby lake. A proper winter scene here. It is fair to say that my prediction last night of the snow not pushing north of the A14 was wrong...

I don't mind as long as we have a covering in the morning

Just rain for me in Rayleigh as the snow drought continues.  I’m always suspicious of these type of snow events as I don’t recall many landing for my area. It’s why I always look East although even that doesn’t work now as its “not the right easterly”.

Roll on Spring. At least it might stop this relentless cold rain

pleased to see many in this region have had a decent event. Enjoy folks and keep posting the pictures

Time for some wine and football

Think it's about a 1:8 ratio certainly only been 4 since 1990 I cam recall and when you think the hits are March 2018 Dec 2010 Feb 2009 and Feb 1991 you can see those events had major cold entrenched b4 hand so no surprise this fell in the damp squib category

Feb 2012 was a decent one.  It was breakdown but we got about 20cm or so out of that.

Crikey, 1 in 8. Lousy. A dead loss of a region when it comes to snow chances. Is there anywhere in the UK worse ?  Maybe the Scilly Isles but they’ve probably seen more snow than I have.

More chance of Lord Lucan winning the Grand National riding the Loch Ness Monster than us getting a good snowfall

I need more wine

Trough went down through the country almost akin to last weekend but proper cold was already in place so I would say thats an exception.

Was a really memorable cold spell I recall that Feb being very dry but also very cold.

Showers packing in from the SW on radar. I wonder if they'll merge with pivot band lol. Wishful thinking! Snow was just beautiful earlier.

Currently have light snow falling, with some melt.
