Forgive me if I'm wrong but it appears we do have E. N. E flow though here atm

Importantly further east in Estuary Southend way the wind direction is NE, London City Airport ENE but of no use.

Think we got a E.S.E flow right now, usually if theres any south motion to an easterly it kills of most peoples chances of snow expect for those in kent, bit like the over hyped beast from the east a few years ago

Ok, done my best diagram on phone and hence my reasoning for a E.N.E

Party away Sheldon.  I’d rather be on the Vengabus, than endure a bit of sleet as the highlight of winter.

I like an ENE direction that we are having. But I think your compass settings are a little out lol

Imagine being on the end of the line of this Channel streamer hitting NW France north of Brest.  But only if it was snow.

An interview with the Met Office thoughts on the SSWE and not really hyping:

>here<

(last paragraph)

So, late Jan/early Feb, seen that on Twitter as one of the main timings. No BFTE, more like this current spell! They are the experts, but that sounds rather an anti-climax.

Still some hope for some snow in my area, maybe even tomorrow!

It’s been a damp squib washout today, however I have just been for a walk and it is markedly colder than this morning, although am sure the wind chill made it feel worse, could be some sleet later at best. Still not seeing any proper snow for ‘us’ in the upcoming period, marginality is not really our friend. Here’s hoping for a better 2nd half of Jan, hope the SSW plays ball.....

That's What It's Been Like At The Moment But It could change.

Dewpoints dropping over the region now.

0°c Hampshire way

1°C West Sussex

2°c further east. Essex/ Kent.

so any precipitation that makes it further across the region more likely to reach the ground as snow
