Woke this morning to a frost and what looked like about 6 snowflakes per square meter so I guess it did something in the early hours!

Very icy out in the side roads where the sun didn’t touch, even late morning when I had to drive the cat to the vets. Had that hair raising moment where you brake and you just keep on sliiiiiding. Luckily I was only doing 15mph having almost gone aot walking to the car I knew it was slippy

Anyway, currently 1.2c, clear and frosty again. I’d take that over rain and 8c any day (shame that is what is coming again)

Edit: forgot to add the evidence of my 6 snowflakes, along with a zoomed in pic of the hills a half mile away and a lovely sky just before sunrise this morning.

There's bound to be a bloody warm sector that develops, like yesterday

Was just slightly to far north, literally about 75miles further south and the warm sector would have been in the channel.

And it would still manage to go around the Maidstone area like all the other oppertunertys we've missed out on so far this winter... Not even a dusting yet... Even more frustrating when you see all the lovely snow pictures from all around us...

COME ON SNOW GODS....

Looking forward to some mild wet weather now to be honest. Sunday's snow was nice while it lasted but too brief of an event to even classify it as such. No point in it being cold without some snow so bring on the wet mild weather. At least you know where you are with that. Rain currently approaching and 1c. Still frosty with frozen snow patches.

Another stunning cold crisp winters morning. Thick layer of snow still pretty much everywhere

Havent had this much snow lie & stick around since 2018.

Not looking forward to the mild Atlantic junk, river levels here are so high.
I have friends that live by a Brook near me and there house is dangerously close to becoming ruined.

Probably an old subject, but anyone got a link to where Steve Murr posts now? I heard on twitter but can't find him anywhere. Miss his invaluable input.

Snowing here in Prague this morning, though temperatures look like they’ll  be fluctuating a lot, this week. I don’t expect much lying snow for any length of time. Still, nice to see.

Here's a YT video of the snow I received yesterday, and a picture I took this morning of the blue sky and the snow:

EskVspFXMAEnRXe.thumb.jpg.8a3504364b4193fb306828c4cd7b2bc1.jpg

That's a lovely video Zak, watching the snow get ever deeper; adored the doggies playing together - are they frenchies? We have one but he can't go out as he's recovering from spinal surgery. I put up a video of Surbiton in the snow on my very small YouTube channel. you know, in case snowy days become a thing of the past, in the SE corner anyway!

Uniform grey skies here this morning but feels very cold. The pavements that got sun on them yesterday are clear while the ones that didn't are icey and slippery; our garden is still covered in partially melted then frozen snow. Dare we snow chase for the weekend? Carol just mentioned 'uncertainty' around it on BBC Breakfast, hmmm, could it be true.....?!

Morning all,

It's a pretty chilly Morning again here in S.E. London.

00z Model runs seemed to have brought an air of despondency, to the Model Thread.

We look like having to endure a period of milder Weather, here in the South now.

But as I stated Yesterday Morning, I don't think the Models have a definite handle on the way forward, post around Day 4.

IMO, Atlantic Lows are looking to disrupt to our West, as small wedges of positive heights look to develop to our N.E.

Having spoken to South East Meteorologist, Ian Currie last Weekend, he is expecting a colder than average February with positive heights increasing over Greenland, again.

Speaking of Ian Currie, I have been given the "all clear" by Malcolm (Blessed Weather), to mention a very generous offer by Mr.Currie, to S.E.Regional Members of NetWeather.

For just £15, you will receive 3 of his Publications.

A copy of one of his County Weather Book series. The County Weather Book Series, chronicles major Weather Events in that particular County, for the past few Centuries, Floods, Freezes, Heatwaves, Snow, Storms, etc.

Ian has quite a few of the Berkshire Editions:

Kent - image.thumb.png.67882585c5c57c47dce93590daf3370e.png

Ian has also Co-Written County Weather Books for Dorset, Essex, Norfolk/Suffolk, Surrey and Sussex.

All the County Weather Book Series are now out of print, and Ian tells me he can no longer get copies of the Surrey and Sussex Editions.

You will also receive a copy of Frosts, Freezes and Fairs:

image.thumb.png.31843f683cf306cbf99e74c7741986df.png

Chronicles of the Frozen Thames and Harsh Winters in Britain from 1000AD.

The 3rd part of the package will be a copy of Mr.Currie's Quarterly Magazine, Weather Eye:

image.thumb.png.982be95628d7203f134a915bfa9ab1d5.png

Weather Eye contains lots of fascinating Weather related articles, from readers.

As I stated above, you will receive all 3 Publications for a very generous £15 all in, with no P.& P., included.

Two of our South East Regional Members, have recently taken up Mr.Currie's generous offer.

I will ascertain from Mr.Currie, exactly which County Books apart from Berks, Hants and Kent, are available in the offer.

If you so wish, Ian will personally sign the Books for you.

You've seen the Photos, now get the Books while Stocks last.

If any Member is interested in the offer, please send me a P.M., stating which County Book you'd be interested in, and I'll put you in touch with Ian Currie.

Just as I made it clear to Malcolm, there is no financial benefit in this, for Yours Truly!!

I class Mr.Currie as a Friend, and it was stumbling across his Kent Book, in W.H.Smiths in my home Town of Bromley, Kent, that greatly furthered my interest in Meteorology.

IMO, Members should own a copy of their County's Edition, if entirely possible.

When I need a "Snow fix", I constantly revisit my Kent Edition. It remains a source of reference for me.

Finally, I'd like to thank Malcolm (Blessed Weather), for allowing me to "advertise" Ian Currie's offer.

Regards,

Tom.

Signs of that Cold air, over the North of the U.K. ,heading back South again for the Weekend.

Below, is the latest MeteoGroup Outlook, courtesy of B.B.C. Weather:

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday

Thursday will bring widespread rain, sleet, and snow to northern England and southern Scotland. However, elsewhere it will stay drier but with overcast skies. Friday will start wet for some northern areas, but it will turn drier later with sunny spells for Scotland. On Saturday, there could be sleet and snow in southern England, but it will be largely dry and chilly elsewhere.

Regards,

Tom.
