>Well. Snow just started in Chelmsford but it must be about as marginal as it gets, alternating sleety mix and falling on wet ground.

I was going to ask as on radar your under dark pink?

Same here in Cambridge. Been under ppn echoes for a while now and nothing but spots of rain falling. No snow at all.

Same  netweather radar

Only chance for those of us in South Essex is later from around 6pm onwards when the wind swings round to the north and we do not have the wind from the south east which has absolutely killed it here so far today. You watch later the temperature will drop but nothing will fall from the sky!

The C2C show shield did it’s job well today.

Im where this cross is and nothing is falling from the sky, despite the darker echoes. Very deflating.

We must be very close, I'm pretty much there too. Can vouch there is nothing coming out of the sky - or as good as nothing! Quite incredible that the front somehow went from south to north, west to east, and seems to have missed us! Time left to correct things - and it is in fact very rare in my experience to see a pivoting front this far east at all - but slightly annoying all the same. At least we had some fun falls yesterday!

Tell you what, much more of this and we'll top out at around 0cm

4 cm in the end, a slight thaw setting in but should be able to hold on to most of the snow until it gets colder again. Not sure how much will be left when it swings back round and heads South East.

Ultimately I should be content with what we got considering others haven't got any snow but compared to what we used to get growing up it's not much.

Time for another snowy stroll down the canal!

We may get a last shout end Feb beginning March, when the N Sea has cooled to about as cool as it might get in the far SE. But if no then you're right. I will enjoy those early warm sunny days in my sun trap patio! Few years back got something like 17C around 10th March, which in the sun was fab!

Never keen on systems coming in from the west always seems to die away or begins to warm up east is best for us with showers coming in.

Just noticed the met office weather shows light snow from 22:00 to 02:00 tonight which is 3 hours longer than they predicted earlier this morning, so the wrap around does look like coming through. Also the temps for tonight are a degree or two lower as well.

I was never hopeful with this one. These systems either drop into France or if they come north it’s because the system is deeper than expected and a deeper low = warm sector which for Essex and Kent means more cold rain. I’ve lost count of the number of times over the last few years where I’ve watched the rain fall knowing that 20 miles away it’s snowing.

sadly, looking at the charts I suspect this won’t be the last time this happens this winter.

Got a heavy rain squall with ice pellets in it now, very windy with it, why I said squall.

My snow is broken, too noisy and too wet.

How much hope is there for tonight or shall I completely ignore the forecast for my place?

Madness, its still hammering down here (4cm so think we won't be cut off!) and I'm just up the road. maybe I'm in the sweet spot for a change, really shocked and sorry so many are getting nothing or rain!! Fingers crossed for you all.

Raining but with a few big flakes mixed in now @alexisj9 so the colder part of the front has reached here. Should be similar with you?
