Update from Newhaven. We have had some hail. The temperature is slowly edging back down again so my dream of seeing some sleet is still alive

Pretty heavy here, but maybe on the wetter side? Doesn't seem to be lying on the roads yet or near buildings, just seems to be disappearing when landing. Temp in the garden has risen to 1.3c

Probably ended up with about 7cms here. Better than expected and I'm guessing the high ground I was at did better again.

So I'd say locally it moderately over performed some of the estimates.

Also nice to have a front with a pretty active core that's snow, been a while since I've seen a band like that. Other recent snow events have been weak-moderate bands that took 4-6hrs to cross.

Looking at my temp and do it'll be rain when it gets here, still dry for now.

Hoping as I’m about 15/20 miles from you it will make the difference! Fingers crossed

The front is still pushing north and east from what I can tell - it may have slowed slightly but it hasn’t stalled yet...
