Yep -- there's still a warning (about to be removed) but nothing predicted to fall from the sky, apart from some light rain tomorrow late afternoon.

We had a dry day forecast today by bbc and met... both have been abysmal to say the least over last three weeks... we’ve had 2-3inches of snow up here today from snow showers... mostly melted below 400m though... don’t pay too much attention to apps and met bbc automated forecasts until 2-3 hours beforehand... they tend to go off radar by then...

Very nice pivot around London.

Bank. Would smash the Forest (if it turned out exactly like that!).

Wow what a let down. Precipitation just fizzled away the closer it got to Ipswich. All we had was 30 seconds of ice pellets and then very very light snow for a few mins. I didn't have high hopes but thought it would be a little better than that. Oh well.

So, below is the timelapse of the cumulonimbus cloud that gave Cambridge a dusting of snow:

A timelapse of another CB which was looking towards Essex:

And some pictures I took in the afternoon:

Overall, a good day for convection!

Look at them dark clouds sliding under the nimbus

looking at the radar, whatever is just Nw of London seems about it for the time being. SE18 may just get an edge of the current ppn but thats about it for the evening i think. lets see what tomorrow brings.

Yeh I saw it had your name on it, sorry about the sleet. Meh.

Turned to snow, very light but definitely snow.

I’m trying to cook enchiladas but looking out the window is more important

The hat is safe for now...

Yep direct hit for you, nothing here yet. I'm sorry that it's just sleet.

Snowing in SE London! Switching between sleet and snow but first fall of the winter so I’ll take it. As I type already over.

Saw some flakes before the blob arrived. Quickly vanished as I was battered by graupel.

Yeah its probably going to pulse up and down as it shifts eastwards and as little lows form along the frontal boundary.

Its a set-up that the models struggle with and they appear to have differing ideas as to just how strong the front is. The latest 12z ARPEGE basically totally collapses the front as it moves in and gives little snow to the region because it dries out.

That is very much an outlier solution at the moment, but does show a possible worst case.

Either way I wouldn't expect the front to be *that* active, perhaps 1hr of moderate snow with 1hr either side of lighter stuff that maybe maginal the further SE you go and the closer to the coast you are.

Currently just have rain forecast tomorrow for TN27 in Kent which is very disappointing!! Unless if shifts further south I can see Kent missing out on the white stuff and it being just sleet and rain.

Someone feel free to prove me wrong and give me a glimmer of hope !

What's crossed Central London into SE12 is just a few spots of light rain. Definitely evaporating before it gets to the ground.
