Harmonie , you can see it’s a mix of sleet and snow ❄️

This is something that concerned me on the BBC forecast this morning; there were definite blues in amongst the white across the region and it looked questionable across our area. That said, some of the predictions seem more optimistic for the SW London/Surrey area. As others have said, a definite 'wait and see'/radar watch situation for the next 24 hours. Hopefully we all get to go out and enjoy some proper snow... responsibly of course....

Beautiful sunny morning here with high cloud and a few thicker cauliflowers off in the distance; looking forward to a lovely walk this afternoon.

I often look at these warnings and wonder what Norwegians And Canadians would say if they saw a ‘severe weather warning’ for up to 3cm of snow

I have often been the butt of many jokes about British snow in Canada. The only time I saw them struggle was when we had two feet of snow overnight. (3ft in higher parts of town) but the road ploughs and then sidewalk ploughs (downtown) came out and by lunchtime it was all running smoothly again. Plus everyone is responsible for  shovelling the sidewalk outside the house or run the risk of getting of a fine so it’s quite a smooth operation.

Not sure how I'll do, I'm under the 100m bracket but not far off! Usually get snow here when it's cold enough, while family home towards HB gets rain

80m Height, 250ft, 5miles from coast

Because of where the low is, it'll mix out the cold for me, need it more south. Although I've not had snow yet, I think it's fair, most of the region joins this one, so I hope it stays as it is for them.

Looks like those showers further north are heading towards EA.

We could well possibly see some surprises later on today. Showers are expected to move down, of the come late enough more chance of snow as temperatures will drop

Have they even Risen yet?

Yep went Norway in March 2019 and they tend to measure in feet and if the snow goes above your property - Hahaha

They would laugh at this thread

So does the snow skirt perfectly around the M25? Always take these warning zones with a pinch of salt.

Of course not. But obviously the METO are thinking the UHI effect may come into play for London, with temps too high.

Looking like being grazed once again a mile or two in it as usual looking st the radar. Can the weather deflector hold out here...

The BBC 1228 forecast looked like an upgrade for our region. Snow throughout London, even as far as the south midlands.

Was just about to say the same thing, looks like the pivot is in a favourable position for someone like me in SE London, who might miss out if some models are to be believed

We have icy pellets falling from the sky in west Cambs - like little polystyrene balls. Will it turn more snowy?

Look like it will go near Cambridge. As you say literally looks a few miles in it for them to.

Just had a short Graupel shower here, which is the first significant wintryness I have seen this winter.

Frustratingly I suspect the precipitation coming in from the NW is just about missing us here, and I suspect the precipitation tomorrow will just miss us to the south

My reverse psychology from this morning worked. We now have heavy snow and it’s settling. Lovely big 50p flakes.

Hardly worth the fuss 1-3 cm of snow.

Shows how rubbish our winters are that they issue  a warning for snow for that amount.

What time will the 12z come out? Genuinely can’t see this being settled till tomorrow. Met office says every type of precipitation for me tomorrow. From heavy snow to sleet! Who knows

This winter here so far feels like turning up to a BBQ late, and all that's left is some cremated chicken thighs and warm Fosters.

Never mind, hope some in our region will be pleased come tomorrow.

Onwards and upwards! Can we wring anything out of February?
