To be fair, with the southerly wind forecast tomorrow morning, we need it to be brass monkeys in Norther France tonight

-1.3 in Orpington North West Kent. Already below the 0 we are forecasted for tonight.  The more cold then the more resistant to any warm air which incresenly should shear away south east to our west.n

I’m in Orpington do you think we could get a covering my 3 year old has not seen no snow yet thanks

I'm intrigued because I'm a bit of a twitcher and it just doesn't look like a gull to me.. I may be wrong, I'm no expert on the matter but I'd love it if there was anyone out there who may be able to cast some light ?

Maybe a falcon? I know there are some in area, on Twitter there are lots of birding folk from Rotherhithe.

We have about 50 of these amazing big birds in Greenland Dock they’re feeding ravenously!

Are you a fellow Gatwickeer, Chiono?

Not sure what to expect here in fairly low lying Surbiton which always seems to miss out, but after the dross so far this winter will be happy with a dusting! Alarm set for 6am just in case!

Same here in Surbiton! Although 6am is a little early for me, so I'm hoping the will we/won't we snow will still be around at 7am .... you know, if we get it.... Only had a few minutes of wet snow on New Year's day in the garden so far this winter, so many fingers and toes crossed.

Loughton weather station on the streets on the edge of Epping Forest showing 1c / -1.0 dew point.

Epping Forest itself probably slightly colder.

All amateur stations on WU near you are showing 0°C at most.

To increase chances then maybe a run up to poll hill garden center for opening at 9:00. The 600ft of elevation could be the difference.. only last week there was covering up there whilst down in Orpington nothing.

Also chartwell and toys hill.. had a lovely walk there last Saturday.   Decent covering.

It’s Wunderground app it’s good there’s also the website where you can find out more info, but I hate navigating  it. Free.

Could be straight back to bed though if it’s rain! We had a splattering on the cars and bins last week which is about as good as it’s got so far!

I did think it was a bird of prey. Thank you. I hope I'm right. But it will be educational if I'm wrong

Quietly confident about early tomorrow morning's event here,  even to just see some snow falling for a while would be so  nice & would be the first time this winter, if I manage a dusting even better but not getting my hopes up too much just in case!! At least there's no chance of the front sailing off into the channel this time lol
