Upper air parameters are virtually identical to the Kent rainfest we experienced earlier in the week. The difference this time is we have very light breezes  (less than 7mph) between the boundary layer and 850Pa that is preventing mixing through the layers. After 9pm we pick up to a 11-13 mph ENE'ly between 950-850, which increases the risk of mixing out and the likelihood of more rain in the mix. A fascinating couple of hours ahead. The radar looks tantalising !

It’s the dew points which are also good. Meanwhile in Canterbury proper snow!

Can vouch that it is heavier here. Laying everywhere except roads! Pretty to see. Fingers crossed it keeps going! Be nice to get a proper dusting!

Freezing fog has descended here in Caterham on the hill, temperature -1.4C, DP -1.6C. Watching the white light of the lamppost for the snow.

Earlier snow on some surfaces has already melted (I'm only couple of miles from coast and dp above freezing) so prospects this end of East Kent do not look good

I fear its all over bar the shouting for the SE Essex contingent as the air is mixing out already here and drizzly mist is falling

Temp at 18z was -2c with -2c dewpoint

Temp at 19z was -1c with -1c dewpoint

20z shows is at 0.3c with a 0.1c dewpoint

And most places in the far east of Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Kent at 0c dewpoint and rising.

In the words of Bugs Bunny thats all folks for us Coast dwellers our window is shutting fast

Sleety precipitation moving in but its very light and the car is still partially frozen (but starting the thaw a little). Heavier stuff moving into Deal soon.

The upper air is starting to stir a little now. Hoping that the heavier radar returns swing this one in our favour.

Could be a surprise little event for SE Kent.

Yep the window is closing fast - Uuuuurgh

Hoping the SST's in 3 weeks time are much lower and the Uppers are better for some proper convection and proper powder snow showers

This is a S hit show really lets be honest

I can confirm this to be case temp has risen to 0.9 and we have drizzle!
