I think the WRF NMM has been on the sherry methinks  the 12z output will be interesting in seeing how things are developing for later this evening

Is it looking good for our region?!!

Be nice to have a bit of possible back edge snow after all this wet weather is through with us. Looks like those of you to the North of Birmingham would likely be in the sweet spot for something white, although I wouldn’t rule out some falling sleet or snow for Central and possibly Southern parts of the Midlands. Maybe scrape a dusting here should precipitation be heavy enough and last for at least an hour or more.

Met Office warning mentions 1-4cm in places, with more over high ground.

No snow or even sleet shown for this area, yet 15 miles away they have heavy snow showing....apps are useless

Example of how sharp that cold front is (Ellesmere) - classic shorts & t-shirt at 12pm, big coat at 12:15 type weather

Looks good for some back edge snow later. Looks further South to so good for the whole region possibly.

What about UKMO for Saturday! looks good, but no other models agree, GFS 12Z though, we're practically snowless

The Peak District is home to a wide variety of magnificent hills, moors, outcrops and gritstone edges.

Peak District updated forecast is a peach

Although  it only shows precipitation    and not snowfall   however if its like other models   with the snowfall      l the precipitation rates on the hirlam for north to central midlands   show  between 6ish and 9 mm and hour  around midnight    which aquaits to cms in  snow.    im sure that may be a tad on the extreme side     but some big nice 50p flakes could be in the offering.

Is it my imagination or is it moving north? thought it was meant to move ESE

No, it's forecast to move NNE, the northward extent being more prominent than the easterly extent - much of SE UK will miss much of the precip.
