Still snowing here in the trent valley ,but on the wet side..

No more accumulation, and turning to slush on the ground..

Unlikely to get anything across much of the Midlands now, the dry air from the east is rapidly sucking the life out of the front. I wouldn't feel too much dismay as even the peak district has barely a covering.

It was Kasim in the model thread who said it was nailed on. Nothing is ever nailed on in weather prediction.

The SSW resulted in a displacement, which is always less likely to deliver significant cold to the U.K. than a split.

Not only him if I am right Steve M he also said if I remember rightly it was 99% on. I cannot see we getting any snow here today at the moment it’s dry nothing falling out of the sky.

Think unless there rapid developments to the west and south of the front, its a big embarrassment for the mods

What is causing this front to dry out on the western edge!!its supposed to be the estern edge thats meant to erode but this is the other way around!!!

Note to one self - Ignore all other models predictions if you haven't got a nailed on Met Office warning in-advance. Really poor from some of the models about where the snow will go. I would now also reserve judgement for Saturdays "so called" snow chances. Rinse and Repeat me thinks

Edit - Give up on Saturday - on to the next chase

Tbh it was always going to favour the ne of the region so I’d say it was more hope casting on our behalf hoping for more of the region to be affected

Some of the best snowfalls I’ve seen here are when there have been no warnings but the models have shown a risk.

Maybe - I am prob just venting after seeing another event go tits up.

That’s the trouble with these marginal setups. Some get dumped on and others see cold rain. Expect more of this in the next week or so going by the outlook.

Never has an app bee so useless as the BBC app in winter.

I only have it to amuse myself or as sort of a guideline.

It has shown heavy snow since like 10am today, No snow.

Not only this time but every other time it's wrong and miles out with temps all the time.

I don't know what calculations they use for it but it is laughable how bad it is.

Still got snow til 6pm we will see.

Occasional light sleet here some visible flakes mixed in any heavier bursts. Obviously really isn't anything notable but can be recorded as another day of falling snow

Still snowing in Notts but with small flakes. Very little additional accumulation compared to a couple of hours ago. I hope it does not go slushy otherwise it will be an ice rink in the morning
