Evening all long day today temps stayed around 0c all day was great.

Driving back home I noticed a few flakes falling was nice.

I thought there must be snow missing me on the radar I bet.

Just checked and yes just missed to the north haha.....

Was a lovely frost and it stayed in shaded places all day was great real wintery feel.

As I got in flakes on wife's car had not melted that's a first this winter!!

Not read or caught up on anything so don't know yet what we have to look forward too.

I can see the precipitation in the north east so guess will be radar watching..

Temp -1.9 dp -3.5.

West Midlands  is one of the better regions for snow   considering our climate  we don't do too bad

Unfortunately it's the Pennines that do it in for us as normally the cold snowy weather comes from the east, and we are right in the lea of the hills here.  It tends to dump up on the moors leaving nothing to fall as it passes over and rebuilds up then starts up again as it gets close to the Welsh border.

It's usually a case of EVERYONE getting snow country wide with just our area with barely a sprinkle and wondering what all the fuss is about   This makes a refreshing change for once.

best area for sliders, normally close to a foot, my location will get less due to being north, Stoke even less

Also lot of the West Midlands is high ground (above 150m asl)

Temperature rapidly rising as the cold front moves in.  Think that's our cold spell over

I remember back in the days when a cold front meant it got colder and increased the chance of snow

My slant on over night and tomorrow... the attack from NW has fizzled out my still give a sugar coating in places ... the 2 other bands coming south first the one Coming down from the NE it’s starting to look like it will slide across the north midlands but might give sloppy seconds proberbly 5 miles south of Birmingham ... the interesting one is the one that has been spreading down from a due north direction if that can interact with the one from the NE it might push a bit further south and Inhance that occluded front .... however it seems to be have weakened  very quickly

Guys,,,

We have had half an hour of moderate snow in Solihull. 19:45 to 20:15,

Covering on all surfaces.

Died away then , but now snowing small flakes again.

This must be good news for our snow starved friends south and east of here. Watch out for a few flakes in the next hour.

It has only formed a slight covering, but it is better than nil.

Meanwhile the temperature is now at -1,8C and steady.

Looking at the charts uppers are the same pretty much across the Midlands, at both 850 and 925hpa, so are wind directions. So no obvious reason why temps and dps should be higher in Shropshire for the last 6 hours than at the same height in other areas, or why it is just rain here and snow there.

Come on redeem yourself 2020/1, don't be like 2009/10!

You moved the camera slightly as you took the pic, everything has an upwards smear to it, including the slide + snowman remains in the bottom left.
