Ok things are more encouraging now, with snow sticking to the grass. Also the radar ahead looks a little stalled?

Snow here settling on grass only I see that Met has removed the yellow warning from Monday Tuesday and Wednesday after issuing a knee-jerk warning

The worst of marginal conditions here. A sleet fest, raw wind and 1c.

Still not 100% here, gusts of wind bring heavier periods, with interludes of lighter falls, no accumulations anywhere. Temp. 1.1C.

At least we got one that worked properly last weekend!

What’s going on out there now is still better than anything the last 2 winters offered here.

Funny how different snow scenarios are playing out with different degrees of success all within a month (and a bit!).

Signs of it turning to snow on the northern edge.

Love all weather conditions. Currently wet snow/sleety mix. Heavy too.

As Billy Connolly once said, there's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing. Going to take the dog out for a walk in a bit to enjoy it.

Suspect the wind whipping it around is making it sometimes look heavier than it is, its still not even trying to stick even though its all snow now and that 10C/heavy rain to sticking snow event last week reminded me again that wet ground and previous rain doesn't prevent it doing so.

Looks like another hunt snow but stay local challenge this afternoon, different from last time as that was just a case of snow showers hitting random places, this time it seems to be snow that's sticking in random places...

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
