Noooo those forcasts are giving me hope, it's going to be all the more painful when the showers miss me or fizzle a couple of miles away!

Sun is coming out.

I see a rebel snow shower has broken free and made it over the Peak District to just to the north of Stoke.

Go, rebel! Be free!

Radar Looks a beauty already. Primed for ongoing convection, with reports of sticking snow from Lincoln.

A little radar update, yes them showers are definitely drifting inland now, even the Birmingham area could see a flurry or two come lunchtime

Euro4 gives around 15cms of snow for the east mids!!

Leicester eastwards should do very well in those streamers! Would say right upto the Eastern parts of the w midlands also should do very well!!

Is that accurate though? Why would there not be showers behind it in the North Sea?

As im inbetween E Anglia/Midlands I thought I would post on here.

Solid indications now that a streamer from the wash is going to spread inland across parts of the midlands.

Even if you miss out tonight these streamers will vary in direction over the coming days.

Very light flurry just blown through here, bodes well for later as that front over London drops away over the morning/afternoon.

I think it only shows movement of current precipitation. It doesn’t show how precipitation builds or dies.

Not sure, but I think Matt got it and well said, but I’ll keep that snap-shot and I’ll do a comparison at 12:30 then we’ll see how accurate it is, hopefully for the better

Light powdery snow falling here this morning, light showers feeding in.

Little warm up for tomorrow. Feel the E Mids especially, but perhaps more widely, that we're in good shape.

Bring them east 20 miles please!

Edit: Cheers, a few flakes blowing around in the wind now.
