Already snowing just to the north east in parts of South Yorkshire according to the Yorkshire regional thread. A long way from turning here, still 4c with positive dew points. I don't think there will be much snow tonight or even tomorrow here, but Sun night onwards looks good with streamers from the North Sea. High risk/high reward, but with some shifting about the likelihood is more will be affected than unaffected at some point.

A lot of promise for the next several days though. Thursday/Friday could be the icing on the cake if it comes off as per GFS 12z. This before even colder weather shows up in FI (albeit somewhat drier with less snow).

Delayed to Saturday when it comes the ECM

4.4C average temp so far for February will be interesting to see what it ends up as by the end of month.

Rain is trying to turn to snow now. I’d say it’s a mix of rain and snow, rather than sleet here now.

Lol so sleet then

Ha ha! Yeah but it was rain, with just a few giant snow flakes mixed in! Didn’t look like normal sleet!

anyway, it’s turned into big snowflakes now. And getting heavier.

That band of precipitation is approaching then. Conditions look borderline for snow but colder air will be coming in on the back of it and evaporative cooling may occur.

So on current models next Sat and Sun look dry with max of around -2, think I'd rather have the risk of pushing the Atlantic further east! for a possible dumping

Snow in the TAF for Birmingham as well, although a long way from being certain. Just a possibility for the middle of the night at the moment. I'm really not expecting anything here, other than perhaps a few bits of sleetiness while I'm not awake to even notice!

I reckon you could see a covering from this! Colder 850's already in the Stoke area now. Bodes well for the next few hours.

Hi Apple, set up my 1st Station when I moved to Aldridge and just uploaded to Wunderground, set up the Davis September last year, The weather link live console that I use with it is great software which records all the data.

Big flakes of snow in Belper now. Looks like quite wet snow currently but the colder air is definitely moving in. Hoping the stuff to the east brings more snow after this lot

Temps down to 2C, DP at 1C and dropping fast. May get that dp at 0 just as the precip arrives here.

Precipitation looks pretty heavy. That should help.

For me it just needs to make it over Cheddleton/Leek area, as considering the direction it's coming in from, that's the last major moorland 'peak' in that direction (for me anywho).  Will be well chuffed if it makes it past.
