Can someone remind me whether the MOD thread is for discussing models or is it the South and South East moan thread instead?

It’s absolutely understandable why they are having a moan I know they shouldn’t do it in the model out put thread it doesn’t look good for most of us going by the Met update for end of week and I would go as far to say beyond next week either

High resolution models below look to match the Met Office warning for Tuesday. The ‘big guns’ however, bring in milder air more quickly. Presumably, the Met Office are expecting the cold air to hang on further south for longer, in line with the high resolution models. Their own model mustn’t be seeing it though because the automated forecast just has rain and mild conditions

Just got back in from my mother in law’s (she’s in our support bubble) who lives in Hagley. It was snowing lightly in Hagley as we were leaving, stopped just as we approached Lye. Nothing in Dudley or up here.

Also for you snow counters..

I have just come in after a 100yds walk  and I have just seen about 20 proper snowflakes drift past me in the street lights.

Much to my surprise, we have snow flurries in Northampton judging by the radar, it looks like we got lucky with a passing shower.

So not much in terms of snow for this week maybe a few flakes for the far NW West of the region. Try not look to far ahead in the future but can see its all doom and gloom in the MOD thread. Still have a feeling Mid Feb could be good.

EC is an improvement, but not keen on the cold being pushed back, increases the uncertainty, cold now due Sun/Mon, it was Fri/Sat

I think it’ll be colder by Friday/Saturday. ECM is slower to get the colder conditions back in but looks on its own with that.

Risk of scattered snow showers by Friday on the UKV.

Na. You have to wait until after it stops before an Amber warning is issued.

Snow getting a bit heavier now and just starting to form a layer on the cars. Appears more persistent too.

Where's it coming from?  No snow above me according to the Radar.

Temp now at 1.0C having fallen from 1.5C an hour ago.
