Atm Saturday is looking a fairly wide spread event for us in the Midlands

I’ll take this from the BBC app any day

I get the feeling that this event won't be as widespread as last week and the especially at lower levels. I think birmingham north would be a good bet but as always don't be surprised with a shift south or worse case scenario is to far north!

If the snow happens across the Midlands, I'll put this Winter down as being in the top 5 at least. My favourites are (in order) 2009, 2013, 2018, 2010.

It's been funny really, as you say, if we get a decent fall saturday itll be right up there with the best that i can remember too. Not remembered for significant cold but just battleground events and entrenched cold/plenty of moisture from the atlantic to keep it interesting!

More rain than snow aswell. The temps dont look as favourable as last weekend.

More of it turns to snow quite quickly over the following few hours.

Whilst there is still some uncertainty on the exact track Saturday looks to be quite a marginal event, certainly more so than last weekend. I suspect height will be needed for significant accumulations although at this stage not sure what altitude required but probably 200m or so. May still see some temporary accumulations lower down but track and consequent intensity will be key.

See the Met office are using NW for their warnings.

NMM suggesting actual accumulating snow to be around 5-10cm

I think the ECM is very much on its own for Sunday but it often is the top performing model.

Right guys just taken a look at the ecm06z pressure charts and it looks further south than gfs!!so i assume the 06z update will probably more of a direct hit for the south midlands?!

Obviously still quite a lot can change re track/intensity for Saturday but it does feel to me more of a Wales/Shropshire hills event, whilst some other areas in the Midlands (more particularly on higher ground) may get lucky I am not expecting a repeat of last weekend. Appreciate some models are saying otherwise so hope springs eternal.

It won't the same as last weekend at all, the air was colder and the feature was a trough. Saturday's feature is a broader system that's modifying the air. The question is whether any of it settles.
