A very good day, 6cms in all here.

Great day building snowmen and sledging.

A couple of pics, firstly overlooking warwickshire and the other of my street. The snow underneath has compacted and turned into sheet ice.

The roads are going to be terrible in the morning

One of the best events I have seen here apart from the beast from the east 2018

Well, you’re not allowed to have the coast AND snow - that’s just greedy

Very true, Lol!  I have a lot of fond memories of Knowle, both my grandparents lived there for many years, they are sadly no longer alive but are buried in the local church cemetery. Enjoy the snow, I’m not too jealous

Could only manage 11cm here in South Staffs. There had been some settling and a slight thawing during the day so it may have been more!  Not a bad result.

Well guys ended the day on a total 25cm of snow here in the Staffs Moorlands! Alton, ST10 4.

Did not expect this today and the best snow event in years!

current temps -3.5 cold crisp night with a full blanket of snow. Clear night in all.

Wonder when the next event will be, hoping we don’t have to wait as long this time.

Good night all.

Shawbury for some reason always seems to get its lowest temps in December, will be interesting to see how it does tonight. It's not as cold an air mass as Dec 2010 (when it got -19) or 2017 (-13) but it has snow cover now, if the wind drops and the cloud stays away it could certainly get down to about -8 by dawn and -10 isn't impossible. Round here It often either drops quickly at sunset and stays there (which it hasn't done tonight, it's gone down gradually) or suddenly drops a couple of hours before dawn (which it could do).

Well it's very crispy out there now  no chance of other half going to work in Loughborough (hours drive) tommorow as local roads, including A5 are snow covered and an ice rink underneath.

Happy Days, view from the window.

A lot of our snow shields were sure struggling to put up much of a fight today ❄️ Woke up to snow falling heavily outside earlier this morning - everything already covered in a big white blanket. So great to see!

Indeed though it was amazing how far North that snow band got. As much as I would have loved for it to have stalled here , am glad those of you further East and North got some too.

The snow did come back for a fight later this evening adding to the thick covering that occurred. Not measured, but would guess around 10cm here. Comparable to early December 2017, even though that delivered somewhat more of a deeper snow depth (16cm we had then if I remember)

Clear and very cold now with the temperature around -2.4*C. But does feel colder than that

Just took dog out for morning walk. Last night added around 4cm putting us close to 15cm. Its nice fresh snow on top but compacted ice underneath so very dangerous driving conditions. Yesterday was truly a memorable snow event and glad we all got to share it together.

Stay safe guys and enjoy the snow before it melts. Should be a rapid thaw mid afternoon with clear skies and sunny conditions. Current temp -5 here. Wonder did anyone break -10. ☃️☃️

My weather station recorded -8.4 as a minimum around 0400 this morning!

Just trying to get a feel for how accurate that is?

Over here, I got down to -5c with no snow cover.    Nearer to you, Wittering dropped to -7.3c.     Topcliffe looks to have been the coldest place in England with -9.2c     I don't see why you shouldn't have record at least -8c over snow
