The main band heading back in now after a few short heavy bursts, and also icicles are starting to form, always know its a decent spell when you get temps around freezing during day and much below freezing at night, a thick snow cover and icicles and we have all 3 .

Coming down steadily again here in Bewdley. Small flakes here too, but quite a lot of them!

Yep, gone from mizzle to frizzle, to snizzle, and now ,snoizzle, as the flakes get bigger.

The ENE wind is now picking up and the snow comes across in waves, just like it is drifting snow.

Quite an unusual event this! Lets see whether it will remain fairly active.

MIA

Good point, you mentioned waves, atm I’m looking at what’s happening to the east long this band as it slowly sinks south, some decent precipitation could run along this band as it heads our way

That will be 'dry snow', quickly accumulates.

Radar is so off today,

its stopped here but should be heavy

Just before it got dark I could see silhouetted snow virga coming down from the clouds to my West, it was descending about a thumbs height (at arms length) down from the clouds before getting blown sideways at almost 90 degrees, stuff's traveling miles away from the actual cloud base. So if you're directly under the northern half of the cloud you'll likely get nothing.

very light snow here now, just sinking south, maybe another hour of light snow, then hopefully clearing for -5, then should stay cold tomorrow with -4 tomorrow night

The band is maintaining good structure as it heads south!! Who would have thought

As I finished typing and look out the window for the 235666789 time today I can report it is snowing

Stopped for 10 mins but it's snowing moderately again here! Again, the radar is showing us in a dry patch, around 10-15 miles away from the nearest PPN. One of the modt bizarre snow events that i've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. I've seen ANAPROP on the radar before in the past, but never as consistently as we've had today. The only thing it can be, is that the wind is blowing the powdery snow around 10-15 West of where it's leaving the cloud base! Is it even possible to be blown that far, though? A couple of miles, I can understand, but 10-15?!

just had to dash into work (around 600yrds away) as I'd remembered no-one had winterised the nursery and garden centre for severe frost (could be down to -8'c here if the cloud clears quickly enough) , very spooky!!
